I was inspired by this picture in the Kdub thread. Obviously the 2000’s were the best time in moto but something about the photos with the grain in them just have such a nostalgic feel. Goosebump stuff.
If you have any similar please post them I want to create a collection and create something with them. A coffee table book or a collage for the office.
God damn I can smell the C12 from these photos...
Bikes and gear were on point back then. I still remember seeing these pics in the magazines. No Fear and TLD were fresh, Fox and Thor were classic. Bell was beefy, Shoei was slick (plus paint jobs and helmet fins!)
Best team graphics too IMO

Funny to me this thread popped up. I love the look of 90s and early 2000s moto pictures. Most were shot on film cameras. I shot Budds Creek this year mostly on film. It gave me that old school mx magazine aesthetic I was going for.

I remember being hopeful he was going to have a great year and get another factory ride, didn't quite work out.
These are all photos I took myself. And some of my favorites that I can access quickly. That scrub photo of James that was posted from Budds Creek and photo of Windham in a corner made me want to go to Budds Creek to take photos. I've had a lot of fun over the years getting some photos of some amazing Racers.
Haven’t seen Hambone on the ‘05 KX250 in forever. I loved that alloy gear that year.
You getting the Broome collision is all time. Great pics bro
Thanks, I was watching with Wally Silva. He is a former NESC champ and his best moto finish at the Southwick national was a 7th in the 125 class, he had a 12th overall another time in the 250 class. And I remember him asking me if I wanted a beer. I said not yet. And then he asked some people to move away from the fence line , telling them I was going to get " the shot". I think he was half joking , but I had been noticing that James and Ricky had close calls at the bottoms of hills like that. Unadilla was earlier that year and a friend of mine got one of the only decent photos I've seen of that crash. So I had a feeling to watch the base of that hill. A lap or 2 later that crash between RC and JS happened . And after I reviewed it. I saw I had 4 crystal clear frames. I turned to Wally and said, I'm ready for that beer now.
My mother used to be a photographer and when I was a baby I went with her to shoot photos in Foxborough of the Patriots . She was the photographer for the local paper and went to all the games. She had me in one of those backpack style things. Her Dad was also a photographer. So when she saw it she made me call Racer-X. I called and Bryan Stanley called me back a couple hours later and asked me to send them some low res copies. After seeing them they asked for the high res images.
A month or 2 later later my mother called me and said " the new Racer-X was at the house". I asked her if my photo made it in. She said "Yes". So I asked her if it was someplace I would notice it without having to look for it. She excitedly said "yes". But told me I would have to wait and se for myself. I was working as an operator of heavy equipment at the time. And making graphics and painting helmets as a hobby . The 2 hours I had to wait before I could leave for lunch felt like forever. When I walked in the magazine was sitting on top of the mail and saw my photo on the cover! The upper right corner, but still on the cover. I was thrilled. And then started to flip through the magazine and came to the table of contents and there it was again. But as a 2 page spread. It was so cool to see it in there. I had my own website that had a couple photos that went viralish, with over 500k views. But that was my first real photo that was published. I was a little bummed out that it was a crash photo though.
