Wow! It's not over but he's in 3rd with 4 laps to go. That's really good!

This is the closest national track to where he lives, but the kid can ride when he's on.

Give the kid some credit. He did some impressive stuff last year too. He's riding out of a sprinter van on his own bike.

People and team's have already tried and for some reason people around him don't want outside help. They want to do it themselves. Yes, he did good today, but in the big picture good riders need good teams. I believe Valle was a good team and his people pulled him out of there.

I've heard it from both sides of the fence. I've heard the Regal's are difficult to deal with, but also Valli is not exactly the most stable team. They've had a revolving door of riders, most of which don't have much good to say about them after leaving.

Wooaahhh... whoever told you they want to do it on their own was not exactly correct. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to fund a whole outdoor season on their own. The Regal's have worked hard to get where they are today and they want support from a team that is willing to put in what they do. Kyle would be more than happy on several teams out there.

Regal needs to put a good outdoor season in and finish top 10 in SX before he gets a ride. SX is the end all be all. If he can get a full season of results then good stuff will happen. If he only kills it outdoors then he is just another Cody Cooper or Gavin Gracyk. Teams are not looking for those type of guys.

Theres way to much SX talent out there to take a shot in the dark on Regal right now.

Well first off I'll say congrats to Kyle. Secondly I will eat my full serving of crow on this one because of a post I made a few weeks back saying Kyle Regal was doomed because of moves he's made that were provoked by his camp. I was referring to the whole Vali deal and his camp basically saying (in a round about way) Kyle was too good to go the normal route through the lites class and put him on a 450.
Like most everyone I haven't seen moto 2 yet but even without seeing it it's obvious the kid proved me wrong. Kyle started 6th. He past Reedy early and when I heard Reed got him back I figured that was it. Nope Kyle went back after him and motored by Reed and Shorty on lap 12 no less. Lap 12 is when the men start to separate from the boys and Kyle showed he was the man today and on a very rough/tough track in weather that was sending rider after rider to the asterisk truck for fluid IV's.
I actually got a email from a member of Kyles family after that post I made telling me what I could do with my opinion and giving me their side of the story. It wasn't a bad email just one that let me know I was misinformed and after his results from the 1st two rounds I'd have to say they were/are correct.

Now that is a real privateer top finish! If he was still on Valli he wouldn't be a privateer in my eyes. Way to go Regal and stick it to all 20+ factory riders!

We got to watch the 2nd moto live here and he looked very solid the whole moto.

He passed Chad gapped him a little, then Chad caught up and passed him again. Chad got stuck behind Shorty for a while, just couldnt get passed him, Kyle caught back up and passed them both.

Great ride.

It's a shame that no matter what he does he won't get a factory ride.... I know the family thinks they can do it themselves and they proved that today. It's just a shame he's going to miss out on some serious bonuses and salary before fading away...

Anybody notice that Chad wasn't wearing his neck brace in the second moto?

He said he had to throw it off cause the strap broke.

They don't want to have to do it on their own by any means. It was the only option they had, being the position they were in with Valli. Please don't make assumptions bud.

Yeah I noticed that.. Maybe it was just too damn hot. I've not worn mine because it was too hot before and my neck was sweating like crazy. I remember thinking the whole time I'm going feel like a jackass if I brake my neck because I thought it was too hot.

Hello all,

I'm not much of a poster here on Vital, more of a reader but I've got to tell ya; It's a horribly sad day when a rider can finish on the podium at a US Outdoor National and not be considered for a SERIOUS support ride, supercross skills or not....

What's it going to take to get as much depth in our support of riders as there is available talent? Still seems like little league with how are riders are treated and the salaries for anyone outside the top 10....

If Regal can ride like that on an outdoors track im pretty sure he can rail indoors too. Didnt he do some sx this year though?
