He seems to have fizzled? Had a couple of decent SX races and so far has been a non factor Outdoors. I really thought he would be challenging for wins by now.

Especially after what he did last year. He started the outdoors on fire last year. Sorta like Eli is doing this year.

If I had to guess, I'd say he isn't 100% but isn't going to reveal a weakness to his rivals. Unless he is having sex just before he lines up...he is kinda of a rock star now.Woohoo

I dont compare the two. Eli has the speed with finess and control,,Barcia ummm well ummm he's Barcia. Holding it wide open and hanging on only gets you so far at this level.

Barcia went 15th to 5th at a rough hangtown.

Then he ran a solid 7th and now a tenth in moto 1

he hasn't nailed a start yet and in this class....you start outside of the top ten and your only going to 5th or 6th

You can't ride a bike like a maniac wasting your energy doing scrubs and whips on every jump and expect to last 60 minutes plus 4 laps. Just my opinion. Maybe he's got personal issues going on in his life, but if I were him i would focus on riding more efficiently.

Maybe it's the first full season taking its toll on him. Last year he didn't have to deal with the sudden change from SX to MX. Also with all the success in SX, he may have started thinking that it's easier than it really is..

Barcia isn't as good as everyone thought. Simple as that, he rides with a lot of aggression and energy which could wear on him through out the moto. Also the testing time he had he may not have got the bike dialed in to his comfort level yet. Tomac had a head start with testing and I'm sure that is a good thing for him. They are two very different riders and at that level all the more testing that can be done the better.

Can see this. Barcia came in fresh to MX last yr as Tomac is this yr.

He's not been getting the starts he did last MX season and the class this season is a bit more stacked imo as well. Still only 2 races into MX season.

I'm a fan of both these kids, but to say that Tomac has superior fitness when his times in the first moto were at least 8 seconds off the pace in the closing stages of the race. In the 2nd moto he was dropping positions faster than a pair of panties on prom night. I don't think his fitness is as superior as people want us to believe. Still rooting for him though

Finally people are starting to realise that he is more noise than pure speed... Not saying he isn't good, but he wastes SO much energy trying to do hold it wide, he doesn't seem to be the smartest rider and I'd guess it's costing him...

He'll have some good races... Just needs a better start for sure. I swear he would go faster if he'd ride a gear higher. Jeez, all those rpm's has to make his rear shock very harsh!

He ate shit at both Hangtown and Texas last year. I dont think he scored a point at Freestone. Not his favorite tracks. Maybe he is trying to be more consistent and has the big picture in mind.

Justin Barcia is a great racer with tons of talent and speed. It's premature to judge his abilities and season based on a few races. He has the speed; he needs to put a things together to be a title contender, however. But let's give him a break, a lot of riders trip through their first few seasons. Justin is not over hyped, and there is nothing wrong with his wide open style, e.g. Hannah, Bradshaw, RC, Stewart. All have or had wide open style riding early in their careers so Barcia's in pretty good company.

The kid is talked about like he's Stewart. He throws the bike around but I don't think I see the consistent raw speed.

Heat exhaution has nothing to do with fitness. Tomac has the fitness, even his dad said they dont get that kind of heat in CO.
