After all the drama I think it was clearly the right move to make sure he's healthy and the wrist is good for the future. The kid has a long future ahead of him and you don't want to fuck around with that injury. Plus, I love our team dynamics for the MXON and getting Coop back on the 250. Looking forward to the race, just hope it's not a mudder or all bets are off
I don't think many would argue with that logic, it was just how it was (mis)handled in typical deegan fashion
Nobody can really argue those points, the issue most have is how it was handled on their end on the PR side. If they had said from the beginning he needs to get the hardware out and it's going to be a longer recovery because there is ligament damage from the pins or screws, then yeah some people would call BS but at least it appears to be the truth.
Too many industry people say he was waiting for Tomacs decision, so at some point they were willing to go. Do they "owe" the fans anything? Not really. But when you like to run your mouth about all the "haters and doubters" you kind of open yourself up to that criticism.
I wish the kid was going and the rest is what it is, not the end of the world and he'll be around for years and years, but I do hope they learn from the negative feedback and do better going forward.
A lot of folks on this site ass/u/me(d) some 💩 and are now being forced to eat the same 💩. Most of them post when North America is sleeping… 😂

All you Vitards who wanted to tar and feather Haiden need to watch this to hear straight from Deegans mouth (Starting 12:17 in video) . . . and then apologize for you ranting.
Down voting is the beta - low T male gifting himself a participation trophy
"if you don't agree with me you're not a man"
Get a fucking grip my guy. People don't have to all agree, that's the beauty of forums like this.
The usual bro-media fluffing.
Not one question were asked about the injury that never excisted until outdoors, or why the answer on going to MxDN never came until after Tomac said no.
Lewis would have done a way better job with this.
So all the vital orthopedic specialists were wrong......go figure...
I don't normally respond to subjective opinions about what an asshole I am . . . But, I am an asshole, so . . . I'm also an honest asshole! I'm also man enough to ignore subjective opinions contrary to my own. I could care less how many downvotes I get, I don't use the downvote button - ever.
Have fun this week and I hope you're able to spend some time riding
What more do you want to know? he said he broke it three weeks before the season, it caused him pain the whole season and that one of the screws did some ligament damage and he will be off the bike for 6 weeks....but then again nobody would expect anything different from Capt Anti....
I didn't call you an asshole mate. I just get tired of 'this everyone should agree with me' mentality. I love a good debate, and good debates foster growth if you can handle being wrong sometimes.
Hope you have a good week also.
I want the media to ask real questions regarding the subject.
1: Why do you/the team need to lie about a injury that over the whole season snowballs in to a larger lie, and then calling people haters when that bubble burst.
2: If this was the case, why did they feel the need to drag out on the DesNations response? And the whole Star racing taking the hit for it and then ended up sending 3 riders.
I don’t question the injury, i question all the lies around it. And when you have done it during the season, i won’t buy anything he says just because it comes out of his mouth.
So the ”Haiden mxdn” part of that interview should have had some other questions than ”will you watch the race and Cooper Webb on your bike?”.
Just stick to the truth in the future and people will not question the things you say.
Sorry that i don’t swollow everything out of your camp Marissa.
If you are gonna hate every rider that lies about an injury, you're not gonna have anyone left to like.
I hope it is a mudder! Those 3 guys are the best American mud riders
Being in moto media has got to be one of the most precarious jobs in society. You want to report information that is interesting but absolutely cannot risk offending any rider, team, sponsor, broadcaster, promoter, or any other person of influence in the industry.
Deegan could have saved himself a lot of rumors by just saying exactly what was going on.
"I broke my scaphoid in the SX pre-season and now I need to have that hardware removed to give my wrist some time to heal properly and ensure the future success of my young career. I love my country and I look forward to representing Team USA in the future."
There's your PR statement Team 38. It ain't that hard.
Instead he choose to play mind games with his competition and didn't want to come across as weak, when he was already whooping their butts with a sore wrist. Play games, win prizes. Can't call the keyboard warriors stupid when you are the one dancing around the truth and creating misinformation then using the team excuse also.
why should we believe this version? we have a boy that cried wolf situation now,
if it was this bad? why was he saying he wanted to go to the MXDN up until his team apparently would not let him
Don’t telling and straight up lying is two separate things in my world. But when you lie at a direct question you should not be surprised that you get questioned about it when the truth get caught up.
In my world there is nothing to gain by lying about a injury.
Pit Row
If I am a rider I am telling the media anything regarding an injury. My injury, my business. Why does everyone think they have a right to know what os going on with a rider and his injuries? Fantasy? no rider gives a crap about that.
We knew he was injured and had a procedure before SX. It cause additional issues and needed to be repaired.
Plenty of ding bats in America made a lot of assumptions as well.
Nobody's eating shit except for the Deegans and their sycophants like you two. This is like their fifth excuse regarding the wrist/MXdN saga.
Suddenly now you believe this version and its settled. Lol
Being bothered by getting downvoted is high estrogen.
Yeah definitely, trust me this time bro.
LoL. team deegs had so many stories along the way, folks lost track of what the current excuse was. When that happens people have no choice but to make assumptions. When a rider does that kinda crap, I don't trust what they say and I have no idea what the truth really is ...which is why I'm not a fan.
*Haiden Deegan continues to wheel out the excuses and could have raced, but only wants to race when it is a slam dunk win in 2025 at Ironman
No one has made up five excuses; that’s just another one of the exaggerated claims that the anti-Deegan nuts are making. If you listen to Haiden himself, his story has been consistent throughout, and he even explained why they downplayed the injury, which a lot of racers and teams do.
At this point people like you are just going to jump through whatever hoops you can to avoid admitting the obvious, which is that you made a lot of assumptions without having all the information in front of you and not surprisingly, you were wrong.
Hopefully, Deegan makes the 2025 MXoN team. I’m sure you’ll be the first in line to cheer him on.
I am just glad he finally told the truth, or whatever we think the truth is. Isn't there a saying something along the lines of the truth will eventually be revealed?
My brother from another mother.
More like dumbass from the same basement.
Why is this latest version of the truth or story the most acceptable one?
Gee, maybe because they've seen and heard all the criticism about it and then formulated the response to rebut all those points??
The answer to both was in the interview... He did not want to boost the confidence of his competition. It makes perfect sense. When you've got a potential weakness, the last thing you want to do is share that with your opponent. Until there are rules to the effect that it must be disclosed, this is what you get.
