I think Webb has a real shot to win MX2, now we just need tomac and we should be the favorites to take the trophy

I wish that were true. If I recall he's missed about half of the outdoor races since moving to 450.

I get it, but the guy has been on the 450 podium many times outdoors, as recently as last year. In SX and SMX he has been right there with the top dawgs, could’ve won his 3rd title this year if not for an unfortunate thumb injury, and he’s the ultimate gamer with unfinished business at this event. Not to mention he’s on the best bike, one that he was a multi time champion on, in an MX2 class that is not as deep as years passed.

I wouldn't call six podiums in eight years in the 450 class 'many times'.

Webb is pretty much a SX specialist at this point.

According to Honda's press release, he's having surgery on the 24th. It doesn't say whether they're just doing a touch-up to make it healthy enough to ride on next season, or if it's a full ACL replacement and the entire rehab time that comes with it, though.

Edited to Add: Hair Lip, your obsession with shitting on all things Deegan is really unhealthy. Seek help.

Hilarious that there are people who still believe that a dirt bike racing team would have any say at all when a rider has an elective off season procedure that at most will cut into his vacation some. Teams offering any opinion on this sort of thing is not something that happens. Find for me another example of a rider being told by a team how they'll handle an injury? Tell me about the other times a team has influenced a rider to have a procedure done and told him when he should do it?

Hilarious that pointing out the obvious makes you a hater in the eyes of those who continue to deny reality even when it smacks them in the face like this.

It's an elective procedure lol.... doctors do not care at all about the timing of an elective procedure. There is absolutely no sense of urgency to having this done sooner rather than a week later from a medical standpoint. That's 100% your decision.

Exactly he coulda taken that hardware out the Wednesday after MXoN and raced. Bullshit excuse and it’s something that I’ll never understand. To be one of the three fastest riders in your country, it would be an absolute honor to go ride for our nation. I’ve had a 3’ rod removed from my femur, 10 screws removed from my elbow, and then later on the same elbow another screw and some wires removed. All three surgeries and I was 100% within a week of being operated on. I highly doubt he’s gonna be any different.

I’m beyond devastated every year when we can never send our best. I love AP and he rode his balls off all summer. However, Eli is simply a better dirtbike racer than him. Bummed he bowed out for AP, IMO there is only one way you earn being selected for MXoN for your country, be one of the 3 fastest riders. That’s it, I don’t give a shit if you sit out every damn race, if you’re still the clear faster guy, you get the spot, IMO you earn it by riding a motorcycle faster than anyone else, not by what you did all summer.

I know from previous posts that you're an ER guy and not a surgeon, but can you put an educated guess on turnaround time for this type of hardware removal? If he waited the additional 2 - 2 1/2 weeks, would that have an effect on him riding west SX next year? Barring complications, obviously.

He could have it done at Thanksgiving and race west. Couple weeks max to let skin and soft tissues heal. The lie in all of this is going to be obvious when he's on vacation for a couple weeks and back riding same time as everyone else.

Well, if last year Star supposedly didn't support sending a team to MXON unless they could win, they've certainly changed their approach.

Jeremy Coker – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager
“We’re excited to race the Motocross of Nations again and represent the USA. It’s also great to have Coop ride one of our 250’s again. It’s been a while, but he was able to get some laps in and looked good. We’ll get straight back to work after the SMX finale this weekend and are looking to bring home another championship.”

How many of you constantly complaining about Deegan not going to mxon are paying your own way there, volunteering your time, health, and future career to make the promoters money.  If not, where is your patriotism.  They would probably would love to have more volunteers to help make the event more profitable.  I am sure there is some skill you have that can help out.

I would say no one would step up and go, too expensive for them, but i’m not sure. You can talk the talk all you want but actually doing it is something else in itself, i hope you understand what i’m trying to say. 😂😂

Money is not an insurmountable issue when it comes to patriotism.  Go there, help monitor the parking lots, clean the bathrooms, do your part!  Obviously these posts have worn me out.  I enjoy the race, regardless of who goes or doesn't.

I really want to go and would totally volunteer my time and money because it means that much to me, but my dentist said I have to get my teeth cleaned as soon as possible in a month and my boss agreed so there's nothing I can do. It's all just out of my control.

I'd probably listen to your boss, it's not a great market for finding a new job.  Also gingivitis is serious,  go to the dentist.

Before SX2024 I would have said this is a dumb move, but I know better now. Let’s see what happens I guess…Coop has earned that benefit of the doubt and it may be his last nations too.

You keep saying this but haiden was going to go to mxon if eli was going to go which completely contradicts this madeup excuse that the hardware (for an injury that didnt happen wink wink) needs to be taken out asap.

Someone was giving you a line of shit. Why would they not send him because of too much risk yet be willing to send their 2 best hopes for a 450 title?

Star is an American based team. I see no problem with them funding one rider and not another for the sake of their country, if that is even the case.

Deeganshite!

It's quite a simple answer,   Webb isn't having surgery to have hardware removed.  I believe they are playing it smart and focusing on  2025 SX.  He didn't get the championship last year. And  honestly I think it's a smart move if they want him 110% come A1 this year.   IMO His job will be to win the 1W this year and it isn't gonna look good if he doesn't.   He was hired to win AMA championships.  I get the disappointment in regards to him skipping out on the MXoN - personally I love that race and would love to see him out there. But I also understand their decision. They had that extra screw put in to make his wrist stronger as a temporary fix to get him through the AMA season.
