He is an all time legend of the sport and is THE MAN. But this is beyond ridiculous now. Kawasaki will not support the MxDN with him in power. Far too many good riders are out of consideration every year. Webb going on a MX2 is a direct result of us not having choices. Good on Webb for going I guess, but Roger has to get the hell out. We need an independent team manager not tied to a manufacturer.
I agree. There must be a number of people within the paddock who would love to take this role on. It makes no sense to keep going with someone who causes issues with certain teams and makes it harder for Team USA to have all their best riders on the team.
Regardless of that, his record in the last 13 years should be enough to try someone new
*Mitch Payton is typing…
Only thing is, it would have to be someone with no affiliations to any brand in any way, that may create a bias towards that team or something like that, and that person should be respected and like by the riders.
I agree dude is like 80 years old, need some Youngblood.

Absolute legend but should set his ego aside and step down. If he won’t do it someone needs to man up and make the tough decision to tell him this is his last year.
Agreed.
Chuck Sun for MGR
Let's get Matthes to do it ! He's super independent! It'll be all Yamahas
I'll do it, I have an American passport now... hahaha
I vote DV!!!
Broc Glover…. And yes, I think this will be Roger’s last year.
That would be great but would probably hurt too many feelings!
I want a smart retired racer with lots of heart, maybe someone like Trey Canard.
You mean that Kawasaki need to get their head out of their asses?.
If they are butt hurt about Marvin rolling over for Dungey they should take a look at them self to. (Savatgy at Mec)
Even if it’s a individual sport, team orders will always come in to play when a rider at a team have a chance to go for the title even if we don’t like it as fans.
Roger is not the problem here, Kawi is. And the double standards that they were okay with showing up at RedBud 2018 with Tomac..
Jeremy Albrecht....He could solve the whole AMA/MXDN issue....
Will wonders never cease....I agree with you!
I knew that you would come around sooner or later.
Hey, how about Roger DeCoster?
Pit Row
Seems to have some baggage, plus he's way up there and will undoubtedly be retiring before too long. The concept of swapping him out wouldn't carry a negative connotation if the thread were titled "who should take up the mantle after DeCoster?", but since it's a more negative, it's, "HE MUST STAY 4EVR!"
Well I have been critical of Kawi and the people on the team for their position on the MXDN for years...so I've alway's been here...
I don’t follow this closely enough to know, but does the Kawi thing with MXoN also extend to PC? I mean they’ve overlooked a few good PC riders to go with Webb.
Yes....unfortunately
genuine question, so dont take i as an attack.
But why is Decosta the Team Manager for USA? Does any other country have a team manager for this event thats not from the country they are representing?
That is no shit.
That is the thing, he of all people knows that quality riders who want to race des Nations can't go because he is manager. Him managing diminishes the list of available riders, hurts our chances of a good finish, and compromises the selection process. If he really wants the best team for the USA he would resign, why are we compromising our selection process to appease this man?
Ehh... He's only got about a .500 winning percentage since oh,,, about 1966 as either a rider or manager.....
Did you have a problem with Jeff Ward riding for the American team to?.
Roger has lived in the US for a longer time than what most of us are old.
Roger is not the problem. He has earned the right to make the choice when the time comes.
Great idea. Call Roger ...pretty sure he would be relieved.
I have a bigger problem with Kawi and their team management with their take their toys and go home attitude....why should Roger and the AMA fold to their childish behavior? Is their any guarantee that Kawi will support it without Roger? Or will they want to be on different radios and not allow the new team manager to communicate with their rider?.....The issue is not Roger it's Kawi.... and my opinion is that even after Roger is no longer the manager the current management at Kawi will not support being part of a team...unless it's on their terms...
