Saw this story while on youtube and figured I would share it here. local government is trying to shut down this non-profit track in Eastern PA. They have a gofundme for lawyer fees I've linked below
.

It’s one of our local tracks. We’ve gotten to know the owners and Zak. They’re such good people and are always good to us. My son has trained there on and off. Really hope it works itself out. Unfortunately it’s gonna be tough sledding I fear. Fighting city hall is always an uphill battle.
Bummer. Fun track and not too far from me. Rode there once in the late Spring. The family is genuinely friendly and just seem to love moto.
I hope they can get this sorted. One of the clear solutions from the nuisance standpoint is eMotos, but we're quite a few years from that being a viable option. But also, neighbors who don't like something or someone will always find a way to complain. If not noise, then dust or traffic, etc.
I'll say that, just like many tracks that are located in rural areas, Back 9 is undoubtedly an economic boon to the area.
Here's hoping they're back up and running soon!
If only there was an organization to help with stuff like this.

Unless the mx community shows up in person to support the track in mass. During the city hall hearings. Then we will look like a minority if we don't. Easier for them to shutdown the track.
And from what I've seen over the years. You lot will hide behind your online comments. Or make a bunch of excuses for not showing up. Then whine n moan about how unfair things went. Because you can't talk a day or part of a day to show support. For a sport some of you supposedly bleed for. But when it comes to these kinds of things are no where to be found.
They'll continue to move the goalposts. Land disturbance, pollution, whatever they can to throw roadblocks in front of tracks and offroad usage.
Quick question for everyone, are they complaining about the noise from the track? Or just dust and pollution?
Yes
Hate to say it, but looking at satellite view, that doesn't look even remotely close to being rural enough for a public track.
Fighting for your right to ride a a Harley on the street without a helmet.
Busy selling insurance policies for street bikes.
Bingo...
This "e-moto is going to save the sport" is another horse shit pipe dream.
I'm an acoustical engineer - owners are welcome to message me. I'd be happy to help.
Establishing ambient noise conditions and setting expectations of what is successfully litigated as a nuisance is easier done beforehand. There are other examples of how tracks have been shut down within the state.
