I went in 2017 because I was in Sahuarita visiting my wife's family. It wasn't top tier by any means, but it was fun to ride and a fun layout. Bummer they closed. Met one local guy who had just bought an 18 YZ450 and offered to let me ride it after I asked him how he liked it so far. There was less than a handful of people when I went, but everyone there was awesome.
I was looking forward to taking my bike next time we head back to Sahuarita.
Yeah, I still remember talking to you before you did that trip out here. It was the same week as the Tour-de Tucson bike race, as I recall, November?
Yes, I miss MCMP. Was only an hour from me and saved me tons of driving. If you ever come out this way again let me know and I'll see what riding I'm doing at the time.
I will for sure. We are trying to plan a trip for either November of this year or next year at the latest.
Me mixed up ? That’s a very real possibility. 😁
I could be wrong but I could swear it was VMC where we saw them jumping. Might have just been a couple big jumps and not the “official” 6 pak if that was at racetown ? We were camped in Victorville off Bell mountain rd across the freeway ftom VMC. We never camped off the 395 near race town, Details aside it was pretty funny when my wife screamed when Cinq flew over our heads completely flat on the rev limiter. If we had cell phones back then she’d of been dialing 911. She thought she was going to watch someone die 😂

It's been several years. How are you!
Never rode in AZ, but I followed Motoland on the socials as I've been doing research (Parents want to retire there). It looks like they're putting in a really good effort to keep MX alive in AZ. A day riding hard pack is still better than a day at the office. Just ride the damn thing! I'm sure everyone who complained about VMC wishes it was still open. Hell, I remember complaining about Elsinore as a kid thinking the dirt sucked. Now that I'm older, I pat those guys on the back for their hard work. We need to support these tracks the best we can. When the last one in our state(s) shuts it's doors, what will our next move be?
That's so sick. Please post more pics of the track if you have any.
I believe I was with you both times. The late 90s to early 2000s SoCal tracks made Seth Enslows out of all of us. Everything was huge.
You guys remember that big freestyle double on the main at Elsinore?
Hanging in there with this crazy assed work schedule, but I FINALLY get to go riding tomorrow. Hope all is well with you and the family. Cassie and Brent are killing it at life. I am going to try and drop by for a visit with them when I go back east this next spring.
Unpopular opinion: Anyone who complains about $40 to ride a prepped track is a noob.
AZ guys, how much does ACP and Motoland charge?
Motoland and ACP are both $35.
Oh yeah, most of our crew were hitting that jump, I ran up the take off several times and said “pass” 😂. It was more than I wanted to gamble at the time. I used to sit and watch guys short it or oj it and it was pretty ugly. But like I said, like 6 bros out of the crew were doing it no problem.
Elsinore was the wild west back then, right? Crazy shit in the pits all the time, chicks crashing into boyfriends f150 while learning how to ride, lots of black plastics, mid day watering that turned the whole place into a greased pan. Good times 😀
Here’s a pic from 04, not sure if that’s the take off for that jump or not but it shows how baked the place would get.
Hell yeah slap. Love the pics from the early 2000's. We are still very lucky now but Socal moto was definitely cranking back then. Full gates and long ass front booth lines at every track.
It’s been about a year since I was there.
Remember the huge mound of dirt in front of the tower? It was kind of a step up step down thing. It was pretty big. Normal guys would go double double double, fast guys would go triple triple. I watched Stewart jump the whole damn thing on his 125 🤯
When the kid and I rode motoland we were out visiting the in-laws. The track was prepped good and we had a good day, even a few ruts. But was just surprised that the soil was more like Elsinore which was surprising because on the way in it seemed like it would be sandy and loose.
The triple, quad mound was tough at first when the corner was close, then they gave more approach which made it easier.
The real sketch were the packs after the dragons back, stuff shouldn’t have been on a public track. Kinda of like Starwest triple.
