Maybe Red Bull is abandoning such "mainstream" sports as MX in favor of pursuits like cave jet ski races, stratosphere parachuting, and so on?

I bet they spend in MX less than a seasons' worth of tires in F1.

Watching MotoGP at Le Mans the other day, huge Monster banners and bridges all over the track.

Even bigger, they are on the Mercedes F1 team drivers helmets (Shumacher and Rosberg) wonder how much they pay for that!?!

I read a few days ago that they may be selling the naming rights to their F1 team as well. I'm sure you would still see Red Bull on the cars, but they wouldn't be the primary sponsor any longer.

I will never understand how hey afford to do all this and stay afloat. As much as i like to support what supports what I love I have never purchased a single can of ANY energy drink and have no plans to. The beverage has zero appeal to me. If I am going to drink my calories it will be an ice cold beer or can of Coke. My cooler on race day is 90% water and 10% G2 Gatorade. My point is, I believe I am part of their core demographic and I have never reached for one of their beverages. Even when I had barrels of it right in front of me that was free. Just walked right by it.

Amazing!

Sorry for the duplicate post...did not see this one...

All I can say is that Red Bull and Monster must have HUGE marketing budgets.

I work with some big technology firms and see big marcom budgets...

But F1 is not cheap nor is sponsorship of teams, series, etc... F1 alone is $100m+ - anybody know the going rate for a F1 team outside of Ferrari and McClaren?

So SX and MX might seem inexpensive...

How do they measure the investment? Or do they even care?

Buying marketshare one drink at a time...and to close with an interesting question - How many of us actually drink Red Bull/Monster/Rockstar?

Like I said in the other thread the sickening part is Mr Luongo will pocket all the money and the riders will get nada zilch zero nothing. Except like I said 10% of dealer cost on a can of Monster.

My thoughts exactly. Red Bull is pretty tight with KTM who apparently is going to invest big time to U.S. racing next year.

You know how many people are on this stuff across the world? Its the new bubble gum. Every KID wants to pound monsters.... errr redbull... ahhh any energy drink that they have a flat billed hat to... Look and see all the people on it. Go to the bars. Your 3 major are doing very well for them self.

My curiosity is what are they going to do next? I mean watch nitro circus and crusty tour and stuff like that. There has been a plan that has drawn up that said Future supercross looking to be held on NASCAR infield. I am a huge fan of opening ceremonies at any major event(been to a few). I mean even the FMX now.

I just really hope we never get to the point of Choreographed(ok maybe too far there) supercross. I dont think motocross would ever go to that. Supercross I think has the ability to do that for some reason. Chad Reed said something years ago along those lines. Maybe I am mistaken?!?! It would be alot better for marketing and shit if they predict certain things.

All I know is I love Dirtbikes, I would even watch it then!

This guy plans to take a hot air balloon up 110,000 ft and then free fall back to the surface, and in the process break the speed of sound with just his body. Crazy.

Not sure where you get the $100 million Ferraris from, entry level team's budget for F1 is 100 million Euro's.

As for helmet sponsership, I don't know how much it costs for F1 but I do know Monster are paying Valentino Rossi 3 million Euro's to have a relatively small sticker on his helmet and to wear their cap on occasions!

1 Euro = 1.23 dollars currently.

Yeah, having an F1 team is more than $100 million. That's how much they spend just in parts, not including salaries, testing, flying the cars to the tracks, hospitality suites, etc.

And Red Bull has 2 F1 teams, not 1.

I drink Red Bulls occasionally. They're semi tasty, and the smaller can is nice. On early work days after a long night of partying I sometimes rely on a 16 oz Rockstar. But no energy drink will ever have a permanent place in my daily routine.

Chocolate Milk on the other hand...

I'd buy any brand of bike that Darigold chocolate milk sponsors.

Darigold Gas Gas team? I'm on my way to the Gas Gas dealership pronto.

Rule of thumb: the more marketing you see for a product, the more of a rip off it is.

All their marketing just makes me wonder how much that little potion could possibly cost them. Maybe 0.10 per can finished product that you're paying $3 for. That's why I look for the stuff that's hard to find and doesn't get much publicity, its usually better stuff.
