After what happened with Lopes, I'm sure ClubMX protected themselves a lot better this time around.
That would be awesome for a guy like Guillem😀
Lmao I mean yeah you’d think but here’s the thing, not everybody does a lot of thinking 😂
Why would he leave KTM?

Another rumour: no more Fantic MX2 team in 2025 (budget cut).
This list doesn’t make any sense. Also missing some (big) names.
De Wolf MXGP 2025
Maybee L.Coenen too, next to Herlings
Really?
Yup
"For Leader de Wolf (19), promotion has been decided. The Dutchman will turn 20 at the end of September, will stay with his team Nestaan-Husqvarna and drive a 450cc machine in MXGP. Lucas Coenen will only be 19 in November - the move is not yet certain for him."
also:
Längenfelder to KTM
Matti and Seewer Ducati
Kay will only be 20 - so he's a few more years left in the class with these BS '23 and You're Out" rules.
Perhaps they are banking on him winning the 250s, and doing a TIGA? As in, win the 250s, then win the 450s. A monumental task that.
Or, getting him into the 450s early, to battle / learn from the Champions who are there, and may not be in a few seasons?
Of course, another part of the BS Rules is now you only get to go for 2 250 titles, then you're out.
We've also read for quite some time about the exit of the Coenens to the USA. Perhaps it's not the case , at least for the '25 season, and they - the KTM group, think with those 2 still in GPs, and Everts, Adamo etc, they will have a near guaranteed 250 title?
It will be interesting to see what does happen.
Coenen’s will turn 18 in November, not 19.
2026 USA is secured, so one last year in MXGP upcoming season, almost 100% sure they will run KTM’s with Langenfelder under the DeCarli awning.
They are both leaving their current teams, as their are some frustrations going on between them if I’m correct.
De Wolf will stay indeed at Nestaan with probably Everts and Rossi as team mates.
Same format as this year, 1x450, 2x 250
Quite some stuff going on with the teams at the moment, curious to see what’s going to happen in the next few weeks.
Herlings vs De Wolf in the sand is gonna be crazy.
If De Wolf goes to the 450, doesn’t that mean if he decides to go to America that he goes straight to the 450 class like Prado? Pretty sure Vialle came before moving up to the 450 so he could learn supercross on a 250. Thought De Wolf had his sights on supercross?
If he doesn't win a MXGP title he can dropa back to the 250 class like Ben Townley did
If he goes to the US he'll be able to ride a 250 unless he wins the MXGP championship.
I forgot Townley rode the 450 in ‘05!! Might be good for De Wolf to ride a 450 for a year then drop back down over here!
DeWolf to MXGP is like WHAT? If you see how many crashes he got lately on pushing on a 250, I wonder how that will go on a 450..
I could be eating my own words, but the wildness, stupid mistake and over crashing almost every GP I don’t call him 450 ready yet. I don’t want to see the kid injured.
Pit Row
The one theory is that Kay is so big that he needs to ride a 250 on the absolute limit. On a 450 he would have all the power he would need and hopefully calm down his riding style slightly.
We thought that with Febvre as well. He was very wild and crashed a lot on the Jacky Martens Husky but look what he did the year after... You just never know. Some guys ride the 450 better and different than the 250.
Glad he got on a solid team but that is some BS that he couldn't get another chance in the US. Both his injuries in the last couple years were not his fault. How is Ktm group dropping him just because he broke his femur after their bike broke? Maybe I don't know all the details but that sucks... In the little races he did he did outstanding. Outside of Deegan he's up there with the best rookies in the races he did.
Maybe he can return to the US after establishing himself as a top MX2 rider
100% spot on. He had his first turn crash at Thunder Valley, nothing he could do there and Star racing dropped him. This year a bike failure and again he was dropped? (Not sure what the backstory is here, maybe they have to due to their economic situation in KTM group). Anyways, glad he has a team. As you said, he can still ride MX2 for a few years and go back to USA afterwards. He now has some SX experience after all - in which he did an amazing job getting top 10s in his first few races
"BS that he couldn't get another chance in the US"
I know two or three US teams that wanted him and tried to get in touch. I reached out on behalf of one of them.
As an added note, I really like Guillem but everyone who tried to really connect with him from the US side said he was unresponsive. I had a hard time getting answers from him too. I'm bummed for him, he had to have another surgery a little bit ago. I hope he kills it in MX2 next year.
Yeah I don't know any details. Maybe the Triumph offer was really good. Or Nani recommended him to take the offer rather than try his luck with a non factory team in the US
If you didn't have any details, then why say it's "BS that he couldn't get another chance in the US"?
Well it seems like he didn't get a good enough offer...
I mostly meant husky/ktm not giving him another chance after their bike breaking led to a complicated injury. But I thought it was bs for star to drop him as well. He was great in the races he did with them. I assumed they dropped him because of his SX speed. But then he finished top 10 in his 2 rookie races on husky, leaving 3/4 star riders behind him in both races.
Just seems weird to me why you would hire someone (or even bring him over from Europe in star's case) and then drop him right away despite exceeding expectations in all the races he did.
I also have to take it up for Crusty here. As we're for Europe, the number of options he had at the time when he got the Star ride was limited. The only real offer I know off was one from F&H racing (De Reuver showed me and my friends some Iphone footage of him riding the bike and damn he was fast).
He had that fill-in ride at Star, thanks to some connections between someone in Europe (Chrispo) and the Star team and that opened some eyes within the industry, while most European fans saw his talent coming since he was in EMX125.. Crusty didn't know that multiple teams reached out to him this year and we definitely don't know the offers they bring to the table.
ML, I know that you mentioned ClubMX reaching out to him somewhere, but what other teams were interested? Thanks for reaching out to him and sharing your experiences here though, sounds like you want the best for him as well. Hopefully he can have a great two year deal with Triump and rebuild his career. Two seasons can get by quickly and he then has options to either to back to USA or ride MXGP
Star dropping him was definitely not cool. His stories of that year, visa issues, J-Coop and his wife taking him in and taking care of him after his injury... He's been through a bunch. Good kid, hope he kills it in MX2 next year.
Not a done deal yet from what I understand.
Not sure if its mentioned earlier in this post
