Did anyone attend this race last weekend?

I heard lots of negative feed back, included a vet rider fatality....

Does anyone have detail information one way or the other?

"Californian Elizabeth Bash was injured in a crash at Lake Whitney Cycle
Ranch in Texas, (Sunday) and was airlifted to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth.

The Kawasaki Team Green racer suffered a lacerated spleen, a broken
pelvis and damage to her pancreas in the spill. Doctors are most
concerned about some internal bleeding, and Bash remains in critical
condition."

Just talked to her dad, a possible broken pelvis and femur, her pancreas is not stabilizing, decision to operate in about an hour.

All of the above information has been confirmed by her Dad.

They only ran one moto. One freaking moto. 9 hours for ONE moto. You get the point yet? I rode 8 laps and no the race was not 8 laps that included practice.

I wasn't there but have to wonder how a track like this continues to pull in the huge entries year after year with such poor customer service and dangerous riding conditions?

I recall some of the same issues after last years Whitney Am national.

Quick update on the vet guy, Jeremy Sharp. He's responding to commands, moving legs, raising 2 fingers ect. He's still in bad shape, but things are looking up.

We quit going to Whitney because of over priced racing/gate cost and rude people. If riders would hit them in the pocket book and quit going there, they may change. But getting people to stop going is the problem. They think it will advance the so called "careers" of their rider. People will bitch and then go back. If they have been screwed once and go back, they have nothing to bitch about. So, unless the back pocket of Whitney is lightened, nothing will change.

It was a disaster,I think I remember seeing 5-6 lifeflights,it was like racing in a mash unit

2 hours in the sign-up line,2 laps practice,1- 5 lap main

sunday-not much better

this was the worst event we have ever been to, from shitty and very rude event workers to the stupid ass pitbikes,If I didnt already commit to take a friends son to the spring classic,I would never go back again

Here is more "facts" about this past weekend at Lake Whitney.
http://www.txmotocross.com/forums/viewt ... c&start=15

People keep going back because the track is one of the best, however its possibly one of the worst run events around. They never seemed to be prepared for the large turnouts.

The race workers are some of the rudest people anywhere. Lisa Pescok is a FAT ASS RUDE PIG. The other FAT ASSED women around staging aren't any better. I quit going there 4 years ago just because of this. HONDA OF HOUSTON never got 1 more cent from me or my family. The MARTINS can go take a leak in there own boots. I've never even thought about harming a woman , but after that race I thought about it alot.

I have to work with certain people, so I'd rather not go into details.
Lets just say a lot of what you've read here covers it

This happens every year. I don't know why so many people keep coming back.

Any updates on Bash? Those are some serious injuries. Must have been quite the crash. Glad to hear the other guy is doing better.

I was there. Sunday was much better than Saturday as far as organization is concerned and it was freaking packed. There were some unfortunate injuries. Odd rate of bad injuries per crash cause i didnt see alot of people stacking it up. Guess the few that did counted. My best to Bash and Jeremy for a speedy recovery. EID your signs are everywhere out there if it means anything.

It sounds like Lake Whitney MX has some problems. However, the bigger question is why would all these people want to spend so much money just to ride a few laps? I understand the "professional amateur" mentality, but that just doesn't sound like much fun. Maybe there needs to be more area qualifiers to alleviate some of these problems? Maybe Lake Whitney and all the big amateur races need to run qualifiers like Loretta Lynns does?

There are plenty of qualifiers for alternatives unless you live out west.

Jeremy was released from the hospital today at Noon and is at home. Everything seems to be fine.

Don't know how all the rumors start, but there were no fatalities.

We quit going to World Mini for the same reasons you talk about here and all of the injuries. We replaced it with Whitney. We have always had a great time at Whitney. We've never experienced any of these problems. It sounds like they were not expecting all of those riders and may have done the best they could under the circumstances. We missed this last weekend, but will be there for the National in a couple of weeks.
