I agree, the track was rough. It was a different type of rough then some other tracks in holland or belguim. This rough was the choppy kind that wants to rip the bars out of your hands.

I live down the road from Southwick so I know what rough is.

Watching those second motos I thought there was a lot of chop. When factory bikes are bouncing all over its way rougher than it looks.

MX outdoors should be on rough tracks. Seperates the men from the boys!!! Problem with so many young riders today is they ride a smooth groomed track and do not know what a "rough" track is like. Maybe might slow down the injury rate!!

Hangtown looked good and choppy, but hardly rough. Also looked tough to pass on after watching Reed going through the pack in moto 2.

Yeah it might not have been the roughest i've seen at all, but it definitely looked uncomfortable to ride... that's for sure!

Hardpack base with all that sand and shitty rice hull mixed through it... There was chop with loose rolling crap on the top...

It got a little one lined, maybe the track crew shoulda spent more time in practice moving hay bales to force riders into different lines...

That off camber hair pin before the big double was a good example... The outside had too much of a crest coming out so the riders couldn't get smooth round the outside and justify the distance...

Same with the back chicane before the last uphill at the end of the lap... it was inside inside inside...

Still, better to see them leaving it be this year, no 60mph hit the deck situations...

Everybody was expecting the classic Hangtown hardpack and got a real MX track instead.

If you expected the same ole US (California) crap, you got a surprise.

Great job by the Dirt Diggers, but that track was only a 5 out of 10 if you're grading it for roughness.

More, maybe, than a lot of guys expected...but not world-class rough. I have seen my fair share of chest deep braking bumps. I don't need any rookies to tell me what rough is.

Based on this thread, it was a trip through no-man's land on a WW1 battlefield.

Hardly.

Great track. Too narrow in too many critical spots, but much better than the pussified predictable we've gotten used to.

I was afraid they were going to stop the race and groom the track, It was getting horrendous and dangerous and someone could have broken a fingernail or something...no wonder Americans have a hard time finishing a a full season of brutal GP`s

hangtown like others get rough no question. but its hard pack underneath it all so bumps only get so big there - the fact that the braking and accel bumps are on up and down hills is where it gets tricky - but no question glen helen gets worse

It never ceases to amaze me how fast these threads go in the crapper! I think the track looked plenty rough enough to challenge those guys but not slow them down to a snails pace trying to navigate it. And even though they evidently introduced some different materials into the base soil it was a obviously a different kind of "rough" compared to the sand tracks. Personally I would rather deal with sand hoops vs hard pack chop.

I really liked the track! It was fast with lots of roost and the rear ends of the bikes were bouncing all over the place going downhill before turns. Imagine the headshake they must have felt going downhill with it being so choppy. Imo that makes things rough, and the track was awesome. But what do I know, I wasn´t there, I just saw the first moto on Alli..
