Conrad Mewse is in for this round. Another sand track hopefully he can get some better results than Lommel.

Will be interesting to see if all mxgp riders on the list show up, would be the first time this season we have qualifying to actually make the race

There are some names on the entry list that should know by now that the world championship isn’t for them.

I really try to understand when the FIM / national federations will step in and do something about it, some are lapping 25 seconds a lap slower then the fastest guys and often cause very dangerous situations and some of the lappers are a true hazard for themselves and others on the track.

Totally agree, they simple don’t belong there.
But that’s the problem those days when you can sign up,pay and ride.

The sad thing is that people and even those riders think they belong there and should be on the gate.

It’s mind blowing seeing some off the names on the MXGP list. I can get pretty mad about it.

Back in the days you only could get a wildcard when you where one off the top guys from the national series.

Which ones shouldn't be on the list? I just checked Arnhem 2023 results. Laptime wise moto 2, most of the riders P1-P15 were within 3 seconds of each other. P15-P30 was around 7-10 seconds a lap. You're talking about comparing former World Champ and factory rider Romain Febvre (who won the race) to guys that battle for top 5s in Dutch Championship or ADAC Championship races. Febvre rides the Dutch Master series anyways, with riders of a lower caliber then described here below.

Riders like Bolink, Blanken, Leerkes, Conijn, Vd Vlist, De Waal, Scheu are all within that category of P20-P30. Are they really contenders for points? Maybe de Waal is. But most of these guys are the best on National level and I think that they can improve some more with the experience to ride GPs. In the MX2 I can see some more names that should be on the EMX250 list, though..

I see that Cairoli is on the list, as expected. No Ducati debut for Lupino though?

It is one of the few GP's where there can be some riders between Gajser, Herlings and Prado. Herlings really needs the 1-1-1 here.. and some luck to gain points to Prado and Gajser. What a championship though!

Also interesting to see that the tensions between L. Coenen and De Wolf are starting to rise. According to de Wolf, the only time Coenen is nearby the truck is at the moment to grab his bike. Quite a luxury but hard position for the Nestaan team to handle this

I'll watch the race from the VIP tent this weekend. Last year it was a great atmosphere there (Dutch fans, Coldenhoff and Herlings fanclubs, beers 😂) So I can't wait for the weekend again haha

i think the dutch riders you mention would be good additions to the MX2 field if there was no age limit (and maybe 250 2 strokes allowed). MX2 has been lacking depth in the field at the non-emx250 races

Can’t see much from the VIP at Arnhem. The food is okay, but since the track is rather flat it's not a very good place to watch the race if they set it up like they did in 2023.
The roof at the Monster viewing area is the best if you can get up there, IMHO.

Steal some MXGP dinner plates while you are there.

If you park in the VIP lot, good luck getting out until sunday night😊

Lucas and Sasha parked their giant American motorhome right behind the Nestaan semi, so they will be right next to Kay's little RV all weekend.

I can say for sure the DeWolf  is an exceptional young man who is polite and well mannered, if there is any conflict, I don’t think he would ever let anybody on the outside see it.

I’m not up to date on every rider in the paddock but what do you think the average number of riders would be lining up if you eliminated the riders that shouldn’t be there?

Depends on what you see as cutoff for shouldnt be there.

Looking at the list i expect all in mxgp to be within 8 to 10 secs of fastest in time practice.

In mx2 there are probably a couple who will be further off.

Imo we should focus more on how we get the guys at gps that are faster but stay at home at the moment. The Gouppilons, Tixiers, Mewses, Etc.

Yeah I'll walk around a bit as well. You actually have two VIP tents ( at least last year). One is the MXGP VIP and the other one is the VIP tent that Arnhem arranges themselves. We booked a table at the Arnhem one, the tent was located just between the start and finish last year.

We park at the camping nearby, so should be good Wink

And Cairoli will debut the new Ducati 😀

Don’t know where you got that from the Coenens motorhome, but it wasn’t there when you posted that message. And I think that they won’t stay close to their team trucks..

What a stupid system. These times should be combined. He's 24th on the gate.
But the wildcards went out before MX2, so much smoother track as well

True and he got the fastest time on his first lap of the session. But even so they should combine the times. He was in 24th in the first lap of qually and got up to 14th so hopefully he can get some reasonable starts tomorrow.

8 different bikes in the first 8 places in MXGP qualifying race. That must be some kind of record.

Doensen was on a mission from lap 1 in practice. What a ride!

De Wolf and Elzinga showed their heart after that start crash. Amazing comebacks from both of them

MXGP, seeing Coldenhoff win again was something special between all those Dutch fans. Herlings came up too speed a little too late. Awesome atmosphere here at Arnhem, lots of fans from all over Europe

It was very crowded for a Saturday. Tomorrow it will probably be even busier. But I still planning to go. (One has to go if you live only five kilometres from the track)
