people never cease to amaze me... FOR REAL 32:1 with a ratio rite. 4 oz per gallon, or 20 oz for 5 gallons. Roughly .60 liters.

Every company uses pretty much the exact same base oils. It's just the additives that are different.......and even then the same main blending company blends everyones oils using a lot of the same additives. It's just the percentages that are different. It's when you get into the higher dollar "racing" oils is when things change and becomes a lot more secretive.

How much "premix" to 5 gallons? If it's "premix" it's already mixed. I run my YZ250 with Klotz at 1 pint to 5 gallons.

64 to 1....I've ran 60 to 1 without any problems...hardly any carbon build up or spooge.......

Shit, dudes. It's easy to see how your stubborn reluctance to adopt the metric system has been to your benefit.

For me, with fuel pumps dispensing litres and oil coming in litres, I'd have to be a disfunctional derelict of some kind not to figure out how to come to ANY ratio.

BTW - 32:1 is the "it's not my fault" ratio and you can't go wrong. Whatever that 100:1 thing was earlier tells you that the poster needs a Ratio-Rite. S-T-U-P-I-D.

There was a post on a streetbike forum a year or two ago where a guy accidentally put this NOS drink in his bike instead of the actual octane booster. It was one of the funniest things I've read. People ripped on him soooo hard, it was great. I'll try and find it.

If you want smell good - Castor 927, leaves much carbon on powervalves.

Edit - you live at sea level, go richer then what I said. I run lean at 8000 feet.
As you say Tiki, If you're running at high altitude you jet the bike leaner. There is less air but the jets are letting through the same amount of fuel so the mixture becomes richer. You need smaller jets to compensate.

HOWEVER, if you increase the amount of oil in the mix the fuel/air mixture actually becomes leaner. Let's say you run 40:1. Your premix is 97.5% gas and 2.5% fuel
(roughly). If you were to 'richen' to 20:1 then you would have 5% oil and 95% gas - ie less gas (per gallon of pre-mix). So, as the air is the same you effectively lean out the fuel/air mixture, meaning that you would have to go richer on the jetting to compensate.

So, putting more oil in the gas actually makes the bike run leaner.

The math is pretty easy if you now what ratio you want to use. There are 128 ounces in a gallon so if you wanted to know how many ounces of oil to put in 5 gallons to get 32:1 all you have to do is:

128 * 5 / 32

Google will calculate that for you:

Google can easily calculate that for you: 128 * 5 / 32 = 20

That's 20 ounces of oil. For 40:1 (which is what I run) you need 16 ounces (1 pint, or 1/2 quart):

128 * 5 / 40 = 16

Google is good at converting units as well. For example, type "1 gallon in ounces" in the search box and it will come up with 128. Type in "16 ounces in quarts" and it tells you "0.5".
