I wouldn't call his results this year spectacular. Not with the kind of support he had. Shit, Wilson missed two races and still equaled Hanny's season standings, and he's a 16 year old rookie.
2 X games gold, which mean more than any SX win as far as main stream media is concerned during the MX season which is even further from being recognized by the mainstream shouldn't be called spectacular, no matter who the competition was, a win this year and a very impressive ride in Vegas (just this last race) accompanied with some dismal racers that have been chalked up to trying to hard and just plain old back luck....
You're right. He's a unfocused waste and his new girlfriend clearly shows that he truly is not focused now that his season is essentially over seeing how he was contracted only to do SX's....

So you may think I have my tongue in his "hoop" but honestly, I love it when the forgetten, never has been, un-dedicated get the attention they deserve, on or off the track, wether it is Hanny, Hambone. Alessi, JLaw, Hill or any other profesional SX/MX rider that gets called out after some dismal races , bad luck, some funk, burnout or whatever it is. You can never replace talent and I am a sucker for the "I told you so" story. I hope he continues to kick ass and live life to the fullest. We all wish we had his life. Deep down we all do... OH yeah, Here is to Jlaw coming back strong when he is ready and Josh Hill winning the SX championship next year, Hamblin throwing down some top tens this year, Weston Peick killing it at the GP, Hanson 3 peating X games, Langston running for the championship and anything else anyone can think of that has been mentioned on here as "not happening" .
Maybe we can try to get Dean Wilson hooked up with Miley Cyrus or something so you will think it is cool to see a sx/mx rider in the mainstream media for who they are dating rather than riding his bike.
I have nothing against Hansen and made what I thought was a fair comment about how this type of stuff has affected him in the past. If you think that simple comment indicates I hate the guy or am envious of his lifestyle then you're mistaken. There's but a very few guys in Pro MX that I'd love to step into their shoes for a day. Josh Hansen is not one of them.
