Hey all… I’m trying to settle down my crf 450 so it’s not so brutal at the crack of the throttle. It was suggested to go from a 13t to a 14t in the front. However, the new sprocket won’t fit unless I remove the hydraulic clutch pump and take off a bracket. The bracket doesn’t look like it does anything. Anyone ever do that and if I remove this pump, will the fluid just pour out? The arrow on the top is for the bracket and the bottom arrow is obviously the pump. Thanks for the help! 
take the guard off and shave it down to get clearance...?
Is the guard even needed? Can i remove that pump without the fluid running out?
Kinda weird it won't fit. Ran a 14/53 combo on my '22 without an issue.
Edit: Also that "bracket" is fairly crucial as it works as a case guard. I'd shave it down a smidge...
Yeah, that gaurd is crucial if you experience a chain failure. It stops the chain from slamming into your case and cracking it. I'd also suggest shaving the bracket a little.

3. Just got down 2-3 teeth in the rear and keep stock front. Also flywheel weight, and if it’s a newer bike like I think can’t you just change the map?
Have tried removing the link and 'rolling' the chain over the sprocket?
If the Case guard is centered to the sprocket, you may have clearance to the actual rollers from the guard. It's what I have to do when fitting my biggest front sprocket on my 500 for DS / Road work.
Definitely keep that case guard on there. I'd start by shaving it down a little so your chain rollers clear.
That is a big jump for MX. Have you tried 2 down on the rear? You can tune the initial response out of it.
That bracket is the case saver. Its called a case saver for a reason.
You can grind it back a little or sometimes there is an optional size available from the dealer.
Im not familiar with that bike, but if you can retard the timing it will take out some of the hit.
