Honestly, I don't know what Trump expected. He's going in there trying to get black voters, but many of his actions in the past have been blatantly racist, why wouldn't they ask him about that? Why wouldn't they, a group of black journalists, ask about Trump's record with black people, ot the things he's said about them? If he gave a good answer that was well thought out then you could call it a win, but instead he decided to get indignant and act like it was unfair to question him.
