I didn't watch any replays but from Deegan's perspective it sounds like he obviously feels Chance did cut over on him pretty hard. Deegan would have had the best view of this and it could have looked more intentional than it was from Deegan's seat. To me, it didn't look like Chance cut over on him too hard from the aerial shot, but then again why did Chance have to put his foot down? Did Chance put his foot down because he did cutover and lost the front a bit?
Either way, as a result of the contact with Chance, Deegan had a huge high speed crash and he was very lucky (again) to get up and continue riding. Deegan is coming from the mindset that Chance cut over on him hard enough to make contact, and assumes Chance was trying to take out his front wheel. In Deegan's mind this was unnecessary as there was plenty of room, and it resulted in a scary crash. That's my guess, whether you agree with it or not.
I'm a Deegan fan and I think he'll eventually tone it down like Jett did when he was getting heat for some of his comments/actions. Deegan needs to realize that by making statements like this, all it's going to do is build the hate from the haters in a pressure cooker, vs Deegan just being an unliked rider who doesn't make snarky comments. Motocross and Supercross bite, and they bite hard, and it's not if, but when. So the minute Deegan goes down with an injury someday, the haters will erupt with happiness and bashing much more loudly than if he just lets his riding do the talking.
I'm I'm his Dad, I'm telling him to stop with the comments about haters, stop with the comments about other riders, and just give some humble speeches on the microphone when at all possible. This will lessen the hate, and might even turn some haters into fans someday.
Chance absolutely did not cut over hard. He took a normal line in to the turn. Unless you are talking about him uh….turning for the turn. He actually left enough room inside for Deegan if Deegan comes off the throttle a hair. Chance owned the turn and Haden was running tight…which is fine but does present some risk. A 100% racing incident then happened. If you think he cut over hard I question if you have even been in a motocross race…that or you are blinded by your love of Deegs.
I would like Deegan if he would just shut up with this shit. I don't mind his bulldog attitude but no one is out to get you. Just race hard. Not saying don't bring personality but this is just pathetic. But it does make it entertaining which is I think his goal.
I think you are the one blinded who did not read my post. I said I did not see the replay and that it didnt' look like he cutover hard. I was trying to give some perspective of where Deegan might be coming from. You were not sitting on Deegan's seat, neither were any of us. I agree he might not have cutover from our view, but obviously Deegan thinks he did.
Why did Chance put his foot down though?

Yea…Deegan is full of shit. Not the first time. Some incidents are hard to second guess not being there….not this one. Deegs is being a whiny little bitch….again.
….and Chance already said. To keep from falling. I do this multiple times a lap. I bet you could count 20 riders in that turn that dabbed a foot. Actually more if you watch that clip. What’s that have to do with anything? Chance shouldn’t dab a foot if he needs? That question convinces me you don’t ride dirt bikes. That or you are a mild trail rider.
Because he started to lose his front end...but many can't see though the red that they see when Deegans name is brought up...It was a racing incident plain and simple and Deegan opened his mouth when he shouldn't have without seeing the replay...plain and simple...I'm beginning to think he does it on purpose to rile up the haters so he can turn around and use that as motivation...
Not to mention guys put their legs down all the time. That cant be your proof.
You guys are so blind you clearly didn't read my post. In fact I basically agreed with what you said your post below mine. I just asked the question because I haven't seen the replay. Guys don't dab their feet when they don't need to, so that's why I asked. I'm not saying he cut off Deegan and that's my proof.
Not going by proof going from what Chance said....Watch the slo mo from Blair....his front starts to go he dabs his foot and it gets kicked back directly in front of Deegans front wheel...wasn't Chances fault and it wasn't Deegan's fault it was just a racing incident...Chance even said he started to loose his front end...I'm not sure what more you want when both the rider and team manager, who was standing the first turn, both said he stared to lose his front end entering the turn...
I was agreeing with you
Yea…and guys don’t turn when they don’t need to. Makes as much sense. …and when someone reads your post it is clear what you are trying to say while hiding behind the Deegan thought comments. …and how about you go to the OP and take 15 seconds, literally, and watch it instead of claiming you haven’t seen the replay. Ugh….
This was what Chance said that was posted earlier in the thread...
“Rough weekend. Start was dialed in moto 2 but tried to catch myself from falling and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ankle is pretty banged up but going to do what I can to be ready for Washougal🤙”
If Chance’s leg didn’t kick back guess who was headed on the inside toward making contact? Chance slipped but Deegan wasn’t looking to give any room. Maybe just fully committed or a byproduct of terrain, right hander, and line formation.
Take-out: Chance is getting x-rays at the Alpinestars medical unit while Deegan is complaining on the podium about possibly needing to be more aggressive than having a competitor DNF and adding up his full race lead. Way to be spicy about Idaho potatoes too.
This is why I thought it was his knee. Ankle makes sense though. Sorry it's blurry, something else was going on behind him in that moment.
Not while passing for the lead in the first turn they don't. He lost the front, dabbed hard and got his foot run over. End of story.
lol
The dumbest thing about Deegan's podium tantrum is that if he and Hymas come together in the future - even if it's completely unintentional - Deegan has the AMA crawling up his ass because he made a threat.
Pit Row
Yeah my post wasn't directed at you, it was the other two guys who were seeing so much red they didn't actually read and understand my post. Both of them responded as if I said Chance cutover on him, but, for those who read my post they would understand I said just the opposite.
I asked why Chance dabbed his foot and now I know, it's because he said he was falling. Got it. Anyone have a link to the replay? It will take me more than 15 seconds to load peacock and scroll to the incident, and I really don't care enough to do that unless someone else posted it somewhere.
Apparently this is outside assistance and working on the bike and is performance enhancing. According to the dude in the race day thread.
I can see a new point someone made that from Deegan’s perspective he has a lot of crashes like first turn pile-ups he would rather not have and is looking for someone to blame. In the case of Hymas he wondered if he was taking him out since that does happen in motocross as a part of the sport people don’t like to advertise but riders. An get away with dirty riding. Deegan was lucky to get his bike going and salvage points but he’d rather not have to do it that way or risk injury. It is new info this week that he did in fact have surgery on his wrist already that was kept rather secret that could have ended his career so I would have a chip on my shoulder to keep the other riders away and let me not crash if avoidable. He is assuming people have beef with him as a way of preventing them from taking him out. That’s a high price tag body if he thinks he’s got a lot of championships left.
I believe this was a racing incident and haiden jumped the gun and didn't think before he talked once again.
One thing I've noticed he doesn't target everyone he's only done it to Hymas and Hammaker(rightfully so).
Something tells me something had happened between the two in the past because Deegz took a dig at Hymas earlier in the year for basically nothing.
It's petty but he gets us talking.
I heard him and hymas have had their run ins in amateurs, same with deegs and cochran.
Nobody said this, Haden kicking his own bike, was outside assistance. Nobody. The mechanic ran up who is allowed to render assistance picking up the bike. The mechanic did not help pick up the bike but did hit the exhaust 3 times reseating it back in position…..since after Haden’s kick it was still fucked up. Mechanics are not allowed to make repairs on the track…period…ever. The prior to the holeshot is assistance getting the bike up…not repairs. Why do you think multiple riders immediately entered the mechanic’s area on lap 1 that were in the pileup for a variety of repairs. Because those teams followed the rules. That the AMA HAS talked bout in the past. I know once after a mechanic tried to do a quick straightening of bars/wheel. Performance enhancing is not part of the equation. If they fucked something up and made it worse it would still be illegal for a mechanic to perform repairs on the track.
Seth, Chance, who’s the next nice kid that leads laps who Deegan goes after claiming they are trying to kill him? Casey Cochran?
Yeah, Seth, Chance, who’s the next nice kid that leads laps who Deegan goes after claiming they are trying to kill him? Casey Cochran?
No this is what he was talking about. The mechanic fixing the exhaust on the track. They conveniently cut it from the highlights.
It’s hard to like this kid because he seems to receive favorable treatment from the AMA when it comes to cutting track (Vialle got punished) , performing repairs on the track and other things in the past. I appreciate that he has a personality but what makes me root against him is that he seems to have too many advantages by being well connected. Which is weird because his dad seems to me a self made man that made his own success whereas his son was born with a 2lap head start when it comes to racing.
Didn't hear about Hymas but I remember the Cochran stuff and Cochran is willing to give it back which is good, the sport is in good hands, expect to see some fireworks between Deegz and Cochran in time.
