You’re correct it most definitely has 2 wheels, handle bars, a seat and an engine just like 95% of other motocross bikes!
Went to a 49 tooth in the rear, and 110 Dunlop mx34s. Really helped the bike. Has anyone on here bought the wifi module and loaded any of those maps on there? would love to get a little more throttle response/snap off bottom.
I put the wifi on before my last ride and loaded the Akrapovic map. I didn't test it back to back, but the power keeps improving. When it was new and totally stock, it had a weird weak spot right when you gave it throttle. But that was likely with the pump gas that was in it from the dealer. I can say with the pipe, Akra map, and VP T4 the power feels much cleaner and more consistent.
That is kind of what I was feeling. Not sure if I got bad gas or what but it felt really similar to what you’re describing. Have a little over 7 hours on it now. Just don’t know if I want to cough up the $1800 for the Akro and transmitter but seems like that may be the route.
Honestly, the Akra is cool (looks amazing too) but you could probably get what you're looking for with just the wifi module. Definitely much cheaper to try.
Wifi module definitely helps with the maps. The “Expert” map has noticeably more bottom end response than either of the OEM maps and still pulls up top
Looks like I will be picking one up. That has been my only gripe with the bike thus far.
It’s still not at the levels of a Yamaha or even 22-24 Honda 250 in terms of bottom end but definitely noticeable and more usable at the bottom. I plan on grabbing the Akrapovic eventually to see what that’s all about but I don’t think that’s nearly as good of a cost to performance increase as the wifi module

You guys minding telling us what 250, or other, you are coming off of and noticeable differences? What is better and what is worse?

I am coming off a 23 Crf250r. My Honda had suspension,ecu,pipe, powerflow kit ect. Overall the triumph is a lot better than the Honda for me. It is much more stable, chassis isn't has twitchy, very hard to beat the KYB stuff, lean/turn in is great, power on the mid/top is amazing. As mentioned above the only thing I would like is a little more throttle response and snap down low. However, I imagine with some mapping changes and a pipe the bike will get there.

I'm coming off a 23 CRF250R with basically the same mods. And I agree with Collin's assessment of the Triumph. It's nice to stretch gears and not have to shift so much (the Honda has great response, but tapers off and requires another gear).
I picked up one of these on Saturday. I have a 23 crf450rwe that has Kit suspension, motor mounts, clamps, etc. just to preface. And that bike handles pretty well at this point.
How I landed on buying a triumph is that I wanted to try something different. I haven’t owned my own 250f in years. Im 43 y/o vet B rider.
I am impressed by this 250f. I took it to a track that is a hard pack/loam mix with all matter of big/small/right out of corner jumps and tight corners and also big sweepers.
It has plenty of pulling power out of tight corners to get over close jumps. And revs out well, doesn’t feel like it’s running out of steam. And I’m at 220lb no gear.
This chassis is very stable and comfortable. But it tracks through flat turns and ruts with very little effort. Kyb suspension in the ball park. My just need springs. But even though I’m on the heavy side for the suspension, it soaked up most things well after some clicker changes.
Over all I am happy with this thing and hope to see more of them out there. May end up on the 450 next year whenever that happens..
Already ordered the wifi module so I can play with the mapping.
Has anyone else figured out any other parts that carry over? Curious about throttle tube, anyone know what throttle cam theyre using? I would imagine it may be the same as the Austrians. I've used lock on grips for years but recently hopped on a 25' sxf that had Renthal 1/2 waffles and forgot how plush they feel.
Probably because just like me, when it came out, he was totally disappointed with that bike's lack of personality, especially compared to what Triumph usually produces.
(Or maybe he just doesn't like the graphics)
The comment was made on a pic of a members personal bike. It was a shitty post/ remark that was made when the pic was posted. This was not about the Triumph bike in general.

Browns TF 250X looked a little different at LL. Thing was very fast.
I had the same curiosity about the throttle tube, my solution is going to be just to order an ODI throttle tube that utilizes their cam system and just swap the cam from the stock grips if I can’t figure out which one it matches by comparing them
Rode yesterday afternoon at the Sandy Oregon Mtn View track. It was so much fun on this bike!! The forks have to be the best that I recall ever riding. That includes my current KYBs on my YZ250 and YZ 134! The Triumph turns just like my water ski, think turn and she turns and is so predictable. There is an up-hill triple and I'm just a few feet from clearing it, when I land the bike soaks it up! Just need more balls on the approach. There is a finish line triple and the same - just need more speed/sack. There is also 2 double doubles into a left hand that goes up and over a table then down a hill. I can smoothly make the 2 doubles and make it to the inside line and clear the uphill table! I do believe my corner speak has picked up some. Very confidence building! Did I say this bike is predictable😝
Too much fun and I dare say this might be the best handling bike I've ever ridden!!
