The spring on the shock is actually steel (it's the spring that came with the shock). I will hunt down the correct spring rate (for my weight) in titanium at a later date.

So I guess the build isn't completely done (You're right as usual Tokyo_Tiddler haha)... Found one more thing to add..
Think Technology light seat foam with carbon fiber base and titanium seat brackets!
This seat really is amazing... So light! I of course have heard about how light these seats are but never realized really what that would feel like. It's most noticeable when handling the stock/OEM seat and this seat at the same time. The OEM feels HEAVY.
The Think Technology complete seat only weighs 1lb 2oz 🤯
Besides being light the carbon base has a really cool feature the OEM seat does not... I guess one could call it a "seat brace"? Many Factory Teams have added an additional brace/bracket to the bottom of the seat pan to assist in keeping the seat from moving back (or just breaking off) under heavy loads (seat bouncing, etc...).
This Think carbon seat has that built in to the shape/mould. Hopefully the pictures below help show what I'm trying to explain
OEM seat vs Think seat
Think
This picture shows how/were the addition carbon brace actually "braces" on the subframe (obviously my subframe is carbon fiber but the OEM aluminum frame has the same cross member)
Very happy with this unexpected addition to my build! Need to trash the cover on the Think seat (I bought this seat "used") and put on the red Throttle Jockey cover on. And of course... more pictures to come!
You absolutely killed it 👍👍👍
I ask because the staples don’t go through carbon… they go through what looks like fiberglass (I don’t know what it is really).
A genius design by Think Technology.
Wow... been awhile since I've provided an update! I finally found a Yoshimura RS9 Tim Gajser LE exhaust system. Yoshimura made only 24 (mine is 6 of 24) of these systems after Tim won the 2016 MXGP Championship. The complete system includes some cool swag 😎.
Notable differences between this system and the standard RS9 system:
- Hand finished and made by the same gentleman that built the HRC Team systems
- Titanium header has extra layer of Titanium on the front portion
- Header includes the titanium O2 bung with "race team only" titanium support brackets
- Red carbon fiber mufflers with special graphics
Have to mount up the system and finish putting on the appropriate Tim Gajser graphics. Then the bike will be fully DONE. Literally nothing else for me to add/do to the bike.
Thats impressive that you were able to track one down, by far nicest build ive ever seen
Impressive indeed! Now get back to work - on the 2023 HRC Replica Build!
"Then the bike will be fully DONE. Literally nothing else for me to add/do to the bike. ".. ahh.. you just havent thought of it yet. You will be lying in bed one night and suddenly the realization will come, that there is something else that can be done.
😯😯😯😯😯😯😯
I don't really know what to say man... I look at nicely machined and nicely made composite parts every day with work (four wheels, not two) and like most of us I've seen more than my share of good build threads, this is firmly placed in that elite category. Crazy. The parts acquisition alone is mind boggling.

I rarely check the bike builds (my mistake) and had no idea Tokyo Tiddler had a 4 stroke counterpart until your post on that moto related topic!
Woah. I'm really impressed by your detective skills (and by the amount of cash that probably goes with such an "investigation", lol). Kudos for building your own private factory bike, hadn't I gone through your whole topic, I'd never have guessed it wasn't the real thing, and I'm not too bad at factory Hondas... Amazing work putting all this together, great result.
Bravo!!!
Hiya Mike.. we have been starving for more "factory fotos" as there hasn't been a lot on Vital recently. One question I had for you is whether HRC in Europe was using the specialized fasters different than OEM design for the 4 strokes like they did for the 2 strokes. There are so many special HRC bolts on my 2 stroke RC250M build as HRC eliminated separate washers and spacers on most bolts to keep it simple for quick reassembly, I imagine. On my CRF450, I am using all the titanium hardware that the Geico Honda team used which only had a few specialized bolts such as for the seat.
