Hello guys, im entering a drag race this weekend and looking for recommendation on what tire to use...i asked staff and they said they hard pack the dirt so they dont have much maintenance to do throughout the night...what tire would you run? 2020 Honda crf450r

Sounds interesting but ill never use it again after this... Would like like stick to traditional or scoop... I don't evem care if its ruined by the end of the races, i just wanna win lol

For the record, I thought a trials tire or a hardpack tire would be a good suggestion.
Supermoto rain tyre, or slick if its blue groove.

As others have said, a trial’s Universal is the go. If you have access to a tyre groover, run extra cuts through the middle three knobs for extra bite.

Yep the Uni’s good on hard pack with a bit of loose stuff on the surface, especially if you groove the tire. Unless of course if it’s deep loose stuff, then a hard terrain knobby might be better.
A wet weather road racing slick is the go if it’s true blue groove packed clay.
Where is the track located? You may want a kenda track master
I think you will be better off with *any* tire you are familiar with, vs a tire you have never tried prior to a race.
Hard pack tires are hard for longevity. Soft tires work on hard pack well, but not very long.
Ohio. Y'all think a soft scoop would be good? I watched some videos of prior races from same people and some looked a little wet and tacky, some dry and hard, some loose with hard base...

Sounds like you would be better with a spare rim so you can have two different tires.
I'd go with one of the "Euro Tires" that has shorter knobs. Like a Michelin Enduro Medium or Mitas Terra Force. Either tires is available in several softness compounds, the softer compounds will have amazing grip.
Probably run double rim locks too.
Is the race organizer KOI? I've been to a few of their events racing both my truck and bike. Unless you have the forks cut down and extended swingarm a moto knobby will hook enough to pull the front end up.

simple green, or liquid wrench RC driver.
Put a “cheater” cover in the front wheel, or tape it up so there are no gaps in your front wheel.
The tracks are so short it is more about reaction time than anything. Put cardboard or tape around the front spokes to trip the beams. I didn't have much fun racing the bike, and just stick to the truck now.
