Looks like Hailie was let go from her xfinity ride. I’ve seen this movie before. Team is going to say they need Joey Logano to “evaluate” their equipment. My opinion is she is on her last leg with that team if not already let go. I am a Hailie fan. I wish the best for her. Looks like her run in nascar maybe coming to an end. Not many top5/top10 results in last 4 years in both trucks and xfinity.

She's cute, that's about it. Nepo baby.

She actually had a good long run of it based on her performance, all things considered.

It's in Non-Moto for a reason.

True, but adding just one word would’ve been easy for OP and made the thread clean for everyone.

At least we seem to have mostly moved on from the “…” in thread titles.

He originally posted it in Moto-Related. And I agree, adding her name would've made a difference.

Title change is nice.

All Things Considered…

This is truly a Non-Moto subject.

While we’re where…

Put RC, Travis and Hailie all in current gen NASCAR racers? My money is in her…on an oval.

On a roads course? It’s on Travis.

I’m jus’ sayin’…

Like Kenny Wallace said about her the other day, only 2 out of 10 men coming in to NASCAR make it to the Cup level. One of them may have some moderate success there.  The odds for a woman having success in Cup is next to impossible.  Danica was on the lower side of moderately successful at that level, no matter how hard NASCAR wanted her to succeed.

She was replaced for the road course only.

Though it sounds like the team wants to get an experienced driver behind the wheel to help get a good baseline setting for the car.

Something that she, apparently, is unable to do.

People with way more talent never get a shot because they are not rich. She reminds me of Lance Stroll. Daddy's money got her there not skill and determination.

Using the term " fired" is harsh. Fired is reserved for serious breach of contract.

So, I'm guessing she was released from certain obligations or contract not renewed.

Josh Berry is an anomaly in the Cup series.  A short track racer with no money behind him but got discovered/picked up by Dale Jr for his Xfinity team.  He has made it to Cup the hard way.

Motorsports in general have been a rich man’s game for quite a while. Nearly every discipline ends up being that way, even if they seem to start out as purely merit based.

I think that’s why NASCAR had their surge in popularity, people believed that anyone could modify their daily driver and win at their local track and get noticed enough to eventually have someone pay them for racing. That was obviously more fairy tale than reality but the impression that the drivers were just regular guys who did well at local tracks and were selected to move up persisted for a very long time.

Then the private jets, 500 employee business operations, and purchased rides started to come out from behind the curtain a bit more and the ‘Days of Thunder’ romanticism started to wane.

If Deegan can keep bringing some money to a team, she’ll end up having a ride. Just like most of the competitors she races against.

Be interesting if she’s back in the car for next week , it may be a road course only thing

with 43 cars and the team being so low on owner points it seemed more a decision to make sure the car made  the show

btw. Let’s go svg

2-time NASCAR Cup Champion Joey logano's dad, Tom, has a lot more wealth than Brian by a substantial amount. To compare her driving skills to his is like comparing an apple to a Watermelon.

I don’t think either of them have had a lack of opportunity to drive and develop. Logano’s a 2-time Cup champion, I think most everyone would expect that he’s pretty talented. I think he did what the team was hoping for, showed what the equipment could be capable of. He could probably help set the car up better for a less experienced driver like Deegan, also.

Riddle me this Batman:  If she didn’t get fired, then why did she drop the race team in question from her social media?  If she was coming back after Logano “evaluated their equipment” by finishing 8th, you think she’s coming back and re-following them on the Twitter machine?

The people that manage Hailie will be moving on to the next thing…

It’s that simple.

There have been a few self paid successful racers in the cup series, do you remember Alan Kulwicki?

How about Geoff Bodine.....

I remember them all.  I grew up and still live in the heart of NASCAR country.  Followed the sport pretty closely most of my life until Bubba jumped the shark at Talladega with the “noose” incident and the FBI had more interest in a friggin’ garage door pull rope than investigating real crime.
I was referring to present day drivers.

He was looking to capitalize on the BLM movement that was taking place.
I haven’t watched a race since.
