IMO...I think a lot of people have picked the top 5 guys correct, but the favorite to win the championship is Alessi. He has been consistent in every championship that he has stayed healthy in. The guy rarely has a bad moto finish. Out of all the people in the running he has proven in the past he has the best all out speed. It's unfortunate that RV is out because I think the two of them would have had great battles all year. Much like RV and the Dunge seperated themselves from most everyone in sx, RV and Alessi would have pushed themselves to the end leaving the rest of the field behind. (a la carmichael vs. stewart)

Top 5 in my order:
Alessi with 6 or 7 overalls (Stewart will win anything he enters in, one or two overalls to the field)
Dungey
Reed
Townley
Grant

Luckily for us I think there will be a lot of good racing for the top 5 any givin weekend...
Brayton, Hahn, Short, Langston, Metty, the Moss's, Grant, Lawerence, Regal and a few others will make up fo a very strong field...

The real question.. Who is 2010's MX surprise?

I think the ol' 15 has one more good year in him. Gonna see Shorty, the Moss', Regal, and Metty up there too though...

Would love to see Langston near the top-that would be awesome and he is my sentimental favorite-he is as tough as it gets in MX. I would also love to see Reed repeat, but I still don't think he looks as good on the Kawi as he did on the Suzi. Both the red riders are competing for a spot in the rig next year so I think that will have both of them on it every week end although Short gives er every time he lines up regardless. Grant is a stud too but needs to find some consistency-bottom line. He can win this thing but he needs to stay on two wheels man! Milsaps is tearing right now in SX. Alessi is unreal outdoors but I don't have a great feeling about how it will go for them. I don't know....

Dungey is the man right now and he has RD and Goose in his corner, and the bike seems to be the best one out there, but then again, WTF do I know about works bikes? Reed sure looked pretty good on that bad boy. Either way-can't wait for the great outdoors!

Really either no one else thinks James is going to ride, or a few months off the bike and everyone has forgotten about him!

It sure does not sound as if JS7 will do the series, maybe a race or two or? Based on what information is out there though he will not race them all if any..

RD5 has to be the top pick, picked by James himself as the best there is as of now..

Reed will be there all year

Alessi will also be there but i think the others will step it up just a notch above him and will crash less. "they" try to hard and "they" will have a tough time taking it all IMO

Millsaps will be a moto or two winner and that will help him to a fourth place O/A

Short will be a tiger and win a moto and his consistency will give him a top five.

I think Grant will win a moto here and there as will a few others but Reed and Dungey are the smartest and can both run anyone's pace when needed but will most likely not throw it away for pride. Those two are tops! IMO of courseSmile

The change of heart about Reed? Did he let you in on any inside info in Australia last weekend?

i see some of you saying regal/ hahn ect ahead of alessi???????

have you watched the great outdoors from last year? are you stupid??? mike alessi on a good bike and healthy laps those spodes!!! the only guy that has pressed bubba and led him is 800.

it;s like this.....800 and grant are gone...maybe townley.

the rest of those spodes are just praying for injury!!!!!

fully healthy...and villy out for a few...it's mike, josh, ryan d and bt....the rest are just contenders.

never forget...800 lost two 125 titles in the last moto of the year to villy...and on 450 is the only guy other than ryan and bubba that has winning speed.

hate all you want, but mike alessi is a drop dead outdoor leader. only dungey, villy and a healthy grant can run that raw speed.....reed cant!!!

I have thought that since Allessi was 16, guess we can cross our fingers for his first title. Chad won last year.

had grant and mike not been out...reed would have not only not won the title...he may have not won hardly any motos. reed is one of the top 4 or 5 sx'ers ever....but his outdoor speed right now is nowhere josh or mikes. when you got 20 mill in the bank....you don't pin it to win it against 21 yr old future champs if pressed.
