It makes a difference. I put the WC mounts and previous gen down and back mounts on my 24. While not a huge difference, i like it. If i were you i wouldn't hesitate to do the raptors. I went the route i did because i snagged a deal on here.

I never really thought much of it until i owned a kaw for a minute and their adjustable peg location opened my eyes to the difference, so i did it on the yam too and like it.

I went that route as well.  Very clean setup with the Works Connection kit.  It winds up only being -2 and -2 back.

Yup. I wouldnt be afraid to go -5 -5 tho with just the pegs mentioned above. I just couldn't pass the deal here.

Yamaha used to release the new model year bikes and have them displayed at Washougal every year for the National. Given that RV was at Washougal this week doing a photoshoot for the new bikes, I'd guess we will see them within the next month.

Anyone play around with a different ecu (twisted/ xpr) looking to mellow it out. Thanks!

Shes a trooper. Just learning the clutch and doing well. This particular track has 3 tracks. Peewee, C track, and big track. She started on the peewee because the other two had big bikes (i dont let her ride on tracks with big bikes other than myself and a few buddies i trust). Late in the day the C track cleared out so she got to spend some time there. More elevation and bigger jumps to go over. At the end of the day the big track cleared and i noticed it was only 1 50cc quad (albeit, hauling ass!) so i decided to take her around a few laps. I made her follow me so she didnt accidentally try one of the knarly inside ruts. She did well and clearly theres some big hits there! No falls and no stalls. Win.

My bike..

Keefer race map, i run pump 93.

WC clutch perch and lever

Acerbis skid plate

Cycra stadium plate (custom vent from cambrmx) and hand guards.

Ti pegs and WC lower mounts from previous gen.

Sag 105ish went two clicks stiffer and 2 clicks slower fork. Haven't changed or checked rear clickers

110 rear mx34

Home made bracket to secure air filter a little better out of paranoia.

Tamer front double button and their rear device (100% must have for racing in my opinion). I struggle with front alone and if they didn't make this rear device i wouldnt even run a front.

Only thing im going to do for now is tighten steering stem a hair. Wasnt bad but i like to set it up where it doesn't turn on its own while on stand. Seems a little looser than that from factory.

Things i want - gytr clutch and ignition cover. Once i burn stock clutch ill try a hinson set. Then maybe next time do the rest of their kit.

I should probably re spring at a minimum at 215, but i never even bottomed out this weekend. Just think springs may put me in a better area of the stroke in corners. I like the plush feel though over the showa on my crf and kx sr.

Ill change the oil before the weekend and im going to use maxima premium.

One weird thing i noticed was the kink in gas vent hose. I cut it like ive seen mentioned here to try to keep a good vent. Ive noticed twice tho after stopping i can hear it venting or "gurgling" and had some fuel coming out of the tube and onto the rear of my front fender at bottom of steering stem.

Pardon my wife's cell phone pics lol

I rode a 24 at BC Sunday. I think it's the best bike I've ever been on. My 23.5 fc450 is now for sale.

This was a 30 second find and install. Once i find a better piece of metal ill actually put the bracket over the knob. For now this just applies an extra layer of security and a hair more downward pressure.

Thanks!

I want to do this as well but I’m being OCD about it vs just doing something Smile

Mines still at 0 hours but i keep buying cool stuff lol. WC mounts with raptor pegs was the latest. Took me till almost 40 to convince myself of titanium pegs lol. Considering the gytr ignition cover and some variety of clutch cover.

Did i see a luxon ignition cover?!

what finally sold you on the Ti pegs? Im thinking about getting those fastway pegs with the lil achilles saver off the back

I was getting worried about the seal with the stock setup.  I could imagine it pushing past the seal so my buddy did this up for added security.  Good setup.  I would use grease on the seal.  I feel like i'm performing surgery every time i take it off with the fear of dirt dropping in.

I've seen a lot of talk about the potential of the seal not being good enough, but haven't heard from anyone who's actually had an issue. My airbox has always been completely clear of any debris when I remove the filter and with my son's '24 250f, I've had 3 of these new gen bikes. We see a bit of sand here in Florida as well.

Prior to AF removal when bike washing: Ever try lightly misting the entire air filter and air box? I have a bottle of Water/Dawn/Simple Green/Who knows what else by now that I use throughout bike washes. A light spray down usually keeps any loose dirt/particles from falling into airboxes and makes the job less stressful.

Similar strategy when opening up any engine: Spray some SC1 or equivalent around the work area before tear down to keep any loose bits from dirtying up the process.

Thats what i was shooting for..

I ride mainly groomed moto tracks and change my filter pretty much every ride, so its lever really that dirty. I just lift up n out gingerly with no issues so far. Im not laying my bike down to change a dang air filter..

It's a PITA but laying the bike on it's side against the stand when pulling the filter helps a lot. If you use the power flow kit and you do drop dirt it lays right on the side of the boot rather than going down the elevator.

Question regarding foot pegs - I’m 6’2” and I’ve never had foot pegs that were different to stock in any way (lowered or moved towards the rear). I’m getting curious about trying this on the YZF chassis. My two options are;

A. Works connection lowered foot peg mounts (-4mm) with a stock peg (has to be a set of pegs from a previous generation per their website)

B. Raptor -5mm down and -5mm back foot pegs

Who has tried one or both, what was your experience? Im just trying to open up the rider triangle a bit for more comfort.

I’ve got the WC 22 mounts w 22 pegs. I’m 6’2” and love it.

I always run DT1 filters and with their neoprene seal the filter fits very snuggly.

I’ve seen dirt get under the lip towards the front a few times but never past the point where it actually seals.

DT1’s have a thicker height or maybe it’s the rubber bungs they use, but either way the retainer strap fits much more tightly than OEM or Twin Air, to the point that you have to push down relatively hard on the filter to ensure the retainer strap is on there and seated.

If you want to tame down hit I suggest to go KTM clutch kit that will add weight to clutch. Kit will fit if you take thin inside metal plate away and put 2 Yamaha metal plates instead. Plates will last twice as long also and tolerates heat better because extra material both friction and metal plates.

A few comments and questions...

Could you specify which KTM clutch? Is this something you've done?

Has anyone installed an Akrapovic system and if so did that help smooth out the engine's hit (per Keefer)?

Dominus sells the Twin Air tab and 2 special screws in a kit https://dominuscorp.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=&q=ta152227bracket++TA152227bracket (FYI...they are on Hookit but they charge $14 to ship it!)

Thanks for the info on the DT1 filters. I'm going to try one. Seems like the Twin Air filter just doesn't fit well on the stock cage (small)

What about the new FCP steering head bearing kit, anyone tried that yet?

Mine has about 10hrs on it and I'm starting to feel more comfortable with every ride. Basically stock except for 14/52 sprockets and RT Gold Valves in both the forks and shock by Levi Kilbarger (Bonzi Suspension).

Appreciate this thread and everyone's comments!
