Anyone have a fix for this? Just picked up a low hour 2022 crf450 and the front brake is like a light switch. Front wheel spins freely, master cylinder isn’t binding. I feel like this thing is going to throw me over the handlebars if I get a little arm pump or hit some braking bumps and can’t precisely pull the lever in. I almost want to do the opposite of bleeding it and get some air into the system so it’s a little more spongy haha.
try aftermarket lever that is adjustable
This one is adjustable but no matter where the lever is it’s still on/off with no “progressive” feel.
Purchased used, is there an oversize (270/280mm) rotor on it? Or aftermarket brake line? Stock for stock Honda has a good brake combo with the 260mm rotor and 30/27mm piston design…
Put a stock lever on it. The leverage ratio of the lever may be too aggressive.

Ride it for a few hours. Once you adapt, you wonder how you ever lived without it.
If you’re dead set on it, go to a standard line if you’re on SS and switch out the stock pads for aftermarket pads. Honda stock pads are pretty grippy.
Bike is 100% stock. I rode it the other day and it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. I still would like to get it to feel a little more “progressive” if that’s even possible, if not I’ll just try to adjust to it.
I've had good luck with ARC PowerLever brake levers that have adjustable ratios (via their "Flip Chip" inserts) / lever progression / modulation. $125 and totally worth it IMHO.

I actually struggled with the OEM Honda "grabbiness" too. Went down a ~ $4,000 rabbit hole on front brakes. Ended up liking the Ride Engineering V2 billet caliper best (over MotoStuff V2, etc.) mated to a 2007+ Honda OEM master cylinder, Honda OEM pads, CoreMoto stainless steel brake line, Maxima Racing brake fluid, and 270mm and 280mm Motostuff rotors.

Appreciate the info! I’m going to try to put some more time on it to see if it’s something I can just get use to. If I decide to make some changes I’ll definitely be in touch as it seems like youve already been through all this, and then some lol.
