Mikey will be there when it counts.
Reed might beat him. Dungey might too. Maybe someone else will too.
But Mikey will be there and everyone on the line and in the stands will be keeping an eye on the # 800

It wasn't to bicker back and forth.
He's flying no doubt about it. Just noticed that and mentioned it. Geezzzz your not going to sue me are you?
I just think they werent putting in hot laps. Track is beat up and that might have been thier first time out to get warmed up.
I agree that not racing SX is gonna hurt them. They will need a race or 2 to get accustomed to the pace.
anyone know what rider used to own that thing?
While not racing for a long time is not good for any racer, the Alessi's come pretty close to creating a racing like atmosphere at their facilities. Josh Hill mentioned that on his DMXS interview earlier this year. Part of their program is gating up in a group for 30min + 2 laps of racing. During SX season they do the same with running 20 lap races on the SX tracks. So while it's not really the same as racing, at least they are doing something close to real racing in their training program. This should help Mike be a bit less rusty.
Mike won nationals last year on a darn fine yellow bike. I think the fact that he will be racing on a really new orange bike will be a bigger challenge to his speed than not having raced the SX season. But thats just my $.03,
Reed, Dungey, Hill, Lawrence (just to name a few) and several other top pro's have ridden at their tracks (mostly at the CA and FLA tracks) in the last couple of years. The Alessi's are one of the few private track owners that have an open door for professional riders. They allow them to practice at their facilities free of charge. I think they are the only private facilities owned by a professional recer that do this.
You pro's please correct me here if I am wrong.
Granted they have their own race shop in CA with onsite suspension and engine builders that I guess could learn from these factory secrets, but if you are not working on race prepping 350's, then what would that kind of knowledge do for you?
Pit Row
I guess there maybe more to seeing how the sum of all the parts add up than what I know.
Who the hell else does that ?
I also thought I heard Tony say that Varner was doing the motors for Nicoletti...did I hear that wrong?
But then again, everybody looks faster than Pourcel (until they race on the same track)
i wonder who wanted to leave suzuki, mike or tony?
fucking dipshits
the simple fact that a podcast was done on the dad of a racer that nobody has seen race in a while pretty much sums it up doesn't? i would have loved to hear what mike was up to and how he is doing from mike himself.
when was the last time a racers dad was the center of attention and not the rider himself? kinda baffles ya a bit no? kinda weird it seems to me.
whatever though and i still will be cheering for mike and jeff alessi.
I'm not going to argue with you guys over this but 500guy's statement had me scratching my head. Maybe I missed some sarcasm???
I can't wait to see how Alessi and the 350 do this summer as well. I think top 3 overall is in the cards but I'm also sure it won't be without drama.
Did I hear wrong on the Varner/Nicoletti deal?
