Hey guys i guess i suffer from flat foot and plantar fasciitis
also our local Orthotics are kinda garbage for some reason at my home place i dont trust them due several ones i made in my regular shoes
i wearing the new fox instinct 2.0 but i kinda feel my legs and my foots are really tired after riding
im trying to make my ankle and foots stronger but
which boots is the best for this kind of situations? for the long term aswell to protect my arch and a boots that dont flex i belive at the ball of the foot or do i need it to flex? haha i dont know anymore
Look into super feet insoles. No boot is going to have excellent arch support with a stock insole
Best solution I've found is is custom made orthotics for dress shoes. The hard molded ones with padding glued to the top. Put them is a boot that has an inner boot like the old tech 8 or new tech 10s.
Also not sure where you are located but a good ski boot fitter is a good place to go for custom orthotics.
can you attach me a photo my good friend?

I have flat feet but never really suffered from Plantar facia. I wear Tech 10's and no complaints
the tech 10 are stiff? aftera while the ball of the foot is really soft or still kinda hard?
Tech 10 are easily the stiffest boots anyone sells
and after they break in they still stiff?
I have flat feet and PF. I tried tech 10s and hated them. Im in 7s now but feel like my instinct 1.0 fit better.. gaerne would probably fit best but they're too bulky for me.. sidi is q definite no go for wide feet..
i have the 2.0 i might sell them and go for the prev gen i had them before and i dident had problems tbh
btw what made you hate the tech 10?
would like to hear more people thoughts
Flat footed, with my left foot completely flat and right with a very slight arch, red wing insoles that break in over time to your feet have been great in my work boots.
If you have PF and arch support issues flexing at the ball and mid foot will exacerbate them as it stretches the bottom of the foot. That is why one with PF gets pain after a lot of walking, the arch gets stretched over and over.
Instincts, Tech 7s, flex a lot in those zones.
That is probably why you are not getting the results you seek with your local orthotics - the boots flex too much. Not the insoles fault. You basically said this yourself.
There are two things you need: 1. boots that are stiff the full length of the sole (most anything with a welted sole, Gaerne, Forma, etc.) and 2. a boot with enough "negative space", which is vertical height or volume in the foot chamber, to allow trying various insoles or orthotics in the boot without making them feel too small.
To say #2 inversely, a boot that bits really slim and has a really low toebox will probably end up too tight with an aftermarket footbed. Crossfire 3 TA. for example.
Interesting comment about your legs also getting tired. Normally that is just...legs getting tired....but I wonder if you're overstressing them because of what is happening with your feet.
FWIW I have a weak AF ankle from an old streetbike injury that causes all sorts of ankle / hip / back issues. I recently started wearing Gaerne SG-22s which I loved because of the great hinge and easy flex. However, for me, it was actually a little too easy, leaving me sore on that ankle at the end of the day. So I switched back to something that was stiffer, had less flex, harder for shifting/braking, etc. For most that would be going backwards but we're all held together with duct tape in one way or another.
HTH.
BP
Too vague. I couldn't feel shift lever or rear break. Also had a couple weird pinch points. Wasnt a bootie fan.
I have plantar fasciitis bad closing in on 2yrs now, how long have you guys had it, i run sg12s feet don't feel to bad in them,
SG22 will be my best option?
also its interesting what you saying because recently i been start following a barefoot people on youtube and they wear barefoot shoes like vivo and xero barefoots and the shoes really flex witrh zero drop heel and they so sure its fix plantar and legs issues because our big toe is so close to other fingers
and i really feel my ankle and my foot when i squeeze her she really wanna caught like when you swimming and ur muscle catch or when u sleep and feels like the muscle
you know what i mean? i just dont know the word hahaha
Tech10 is going to be a high arch. Gaerne is the flattest and Sidi splits them.
Pit Row
Perhaps but not necessarily. The combination of boot shape and your specific situation has a mix of lots of variables. Some trial and error will be needed. That said I would try something with a stiff sole along its full length.
I know the barefoot crew like their flex. Maybe they are right? It is a bit early to know, I would guess it will take many more years to see long term effect on a large sample. Also note they are mostly young and healthy, not a bit beaten up like the average moto person.
But the mountaineering and logging crowds have had great success with stiff soles. Like THESE Gaernes:
