Wow does that frame ever pop!
I know you're going to hate this, but grind the paint where the motor torque's to the frame. For the ground
Hey OldTech, thanks for looking out 💪🏼 I forgot to do that.
Thank you Flatliner!

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Progress has been slow. Just got the swing arm and linkages back from Alumin-art anodized in black. Replaced all bearings and seals then installed the rear shock and swing arm.
Next up will be the rear brake and triple clamps.

Sweet bike. Greg’s tutorials got me through the engine build.
Something else from MXA

The build is looking great. What brand and color powder did your powder-coater use on the frame? It looks excellent.
Thanks cse! The powder was Kawasaki green from Columbia Coatings.
Thanks. Keep posting pictures excited to see the rest of the build.
i got something that would go nice with that build.
I was lucky enough to pick one up from Pro Circuit. They only had a few left. Yours looks new.
Dude that BIKE
It is all start8ng coming toghether!
Really nice build, the components in it. Everything is spot on. As I am from europe I will tell you all a little something about those Pro X cranks and pistons you all are saying good things about. Make sure they are Made in Japan first. Have had a couple of issues.
But back to the KX. No matter what's your decision on the colour if your plastics and graphics, your's will be the right one that works
Thanks for the kind words, koval_731! I’ll try to keep the updates on the way.
Subframe powder coated black and fork guards in place.
Here we are about 2 years later since my last post. Finally got the time to get this project wrapped up. I will be getting some better photos uploaded in the next month or so. Let me know if you have any questions about the build.

Pit Row
Congratulations on that first class build. Your KX is effing awesome...a beautiful sight for sore eyes.
Will you be spinning some laps or is she gonna be strictly a showroom trophy?
Thanks Boomslang! I thought this might go unnoticed since it took me 3 years to finish. I took it down the road once but I’m leaning towards leaving it as a showpiece.
Ditching the rubber mount clamps and going solid bar mount style was the best mod I ever did on my 2000. Fwiw
FWIW I have used Hot Rod cranks on at least half a dozen rebuilds without a single issue, ever.
Nice build, not my style, but nice craftsmanship. Not many folk will/can do what you did there. Pretty much starting with the blaster conversion.
Good to hear about the Hot Rods. Thanks for the kind words, brocster.
