When Hunter was behind him, Jett wasn’t trying, he could have done that pace for hours. Chase is a different story which is why Hunter was completely dropped when Chase got into 2nd. Good first race for Hunter though but at no stage was he a threat for Jett.

He was riding with what the bike was giving him, and pushing a bit more when those two were closing in.
But never looked anything but under control.
Chase will indeed get his bike more dialed as well.

How did Jett pick up the pace and gapped Hunter with 25+ seconds when Chase got up to second if he was riding flat out before that?.
Even a blind person could see that Jett did the same thing second moto that he did in SX when Hunter was behind. He gave him a tow, but when Chase broke that tow by passing Hunter, Jett started to focus on him self.
Jett looked back multiple times to see that Hunter was there and when he saw Sexton instead he dropped the laptimes and started to push.
It’s as if there’s no information out there. Go look at hunters lap times. After chase got by he slowed up, they didn’t just gap him by dropping there pace 5s a lap. Yes they did up the pace 1-2s for a couple laps but hunter Literally slowed up by 7-8s per lap. Likely because he knew he wasn’t going to beat Jett & his own overall was secured. My 2 cents

I was laughing at all the comments in the race day thread about Hunter being dropped. It was clear as day that once Sexton got past, he realised there was no reason to push, and he slowed right down to bring it home. 2nd overall was secure. He said as much on the podium.
I said in the race thread, Hunter is way better than I thought he would be. I think he gets a win this summer. At least a moto, if he can start in front of Jett. I mean Jett can get a great start every moto can he? Cmon Jett make it interesting for us! Some 3-way battles with Jett, Chase, and Hunter would be sick
Mark me down as I don’t think Hunter on most occasions will have anything for Jett or Chase as well. Hopefully for the sake of keeping it interesting I am wrong.
I mean, he shouldn't. Jett and Chase are faster than him. I think as the season goes on and he improves, he could just have one of those days he's on it and flying. He has the potential to win imo
I’d also be surprised if anyone’s able to beat him, not that It was confirmed but Jett’s bike didn’t seem to be handling as well as it usually looks + his own comments after the first moto on the setup. So I’d imagine once he’s completely comfortable the chances anyone beats him decreases a lot. But I’m rooting for hunter to beat him.
I guess we will see. Easy for Hunter to say he knew the points and just rode it in, but as soon as Chase got past they put 30 seconds on him in about 6 laps. Chase and Jett dropped their lap times and Hunter dropped an anchor is what it looks like to me....he was 3 seconds a lap slower on average for the whole race and laps 11-15 were way off. It could be that he really backed it off, but why wouldn't he want to go for the win if he had that pace for the whole race?
To be honest wouldn’t be to surprised if hunter won a moto at southwick!

Clearly Hunter backed it down…. What we don’t know is why. Logic would tell you he would want to keep them in sight in case they tangled and he could get by for the win.
on another note, Chase had multiple laps faster than Jett’s fastest lap. These 2 are going to race tight all year.

He made some mistakes and lost the gap so knowing he had second he eased up.
44-0 seems more legit than it’s ever been IMO.
Undefeated is possible but I don't see perfect. Chase was really strong and might be better back east.
Yes, but did he back off because he blew up at that pace or because he slowed down on purpose?

I'm going to look at this as the glass being half full. Chase can at the very least be in Jett's head at least a little and keep him on his toes. Jett makes it look way easier than how hard he is actually concentrating once Chase gets close imho. If Chase can keep pushing something will give. Not saying Jett is going to crack big time but at the pace those two run together mistakes will happen.

Chase looked great 2nd moto. Yes, just like Pala last year. But wasn't the injury he had before Hamgtown a concussion? The recovery from that is never cut and dry and he was playing catch up the rest of the season. Do I think he's going to beat Jett on the regular? No, but hopefully he can make some races interesting
Everyone’s in denial and won’t accept it..I don’t think Jett goes 22-0 again..it’s possible for sure. But Jett wins this title easily without DNFs
You seem to have real trouble putting ' in the right place.
Great ride by Hunter and I think this will be a normal position all year for him unless racing situations arise. They have said all along he is a grinder and his brother made mention of it as well which leads me to believe Hunter has pace at home and making things fun for his brother.
I think that Jett is in Chase’s head more. Chase has never come out on top from a 1 on 1 battle with those two. Yes, he has beaten Jett when Jett did a bad start etc but never beaten him when both were up front racing for it man against man.
