Did he figure out what malfunctioned?
I've had one of those style haulers for many years and carried more bikes than I can count on it and never had an issue. The biggest stress test has been an XR650L on it for hundreds of miles of rough roads through the mountains and including dirt roads. I figure if that pig bouncing up and down that hard didn't come loose then nothing will.

He said it rolled off The side. I remember looking at it when he loaded it and it looked weird(the way it strapped) but I’ve never used those things. I figured he knew what he was doing since he brought it. I didn’t even ask what happened to the bike but he lost it on a fast highway so it had to do damage.
Was it the type that you roll on from the side or the moto-jack design? Mine has a T-pin that goes through or over each of the pegs. Once those have the slack out of them and are securely tightened it's very difficult to come loose. The only strap I use is to hold the bars to one side so they don't flop back and forth.
Hate it for him. Few feelings as bad as having a bike come off in transit.

Sounds like a different design than the MotoJack style.
I do have to say … what it the foot peg broke or the foot peg pin came out since thats what holds it on.
Another reason why I run 2 tiedowns on the inside just in case.
I guess anything could happen but haven't had any issues with it. I rock it as hard as I can before I take off to see if the pins are going to come loose. As long as they hold through that I figure they'll hold through anything on the road (short of a wreck or similar), in which case it's probably not going to be a good day, anyway.
Never tried tying it back toward the truck, just the bars to the frame to stop the swapping while it's moving.
Agreed and my lock bolts are large maybe 1/2 inch T shaped so you can really torque them down. I use the jack lever to do it too.
If the peg broke it'd suck for sure, but I'd be happy it happened in transport rather than on a landing or while stood up through some rollers or something 😂
Update: they said they’d provide tracking the week of May 6th. I gave them an extra week and still haven’t received any update or package. I’m going to now refute the charge on PayPal and will leave this thread up. Absolutely horrendous business.
I bought one 19 years ago and still use it.. It is a great design. I can't speak to their current customer service though.
