Tough crowd in here, damn.
According to Romano’s GoPro footage of him riding motos at the farm, Webb has been out there.
Honestly doesn’t strike me as a bad move. He’s better at SX anyway. Take a month or two to recover and relax and then put all of his effort into 25 SX prep so he stands a chance at maybe beating Jett. The points were literally even until he got injured so not unrealistic to believe in himself beating Jett next season, especially if he has extra time to prep
Call it a legit injury or not, judging by the way he rode and placing his whole hand on top of the bars in that last race I don't see how in the hell he can withstand 2 30+ minute motos outdoors. I don't think he's nearly as good at MX as he is with SX anyways so it's not like he was going to be challenging Jett for anything outdoors. MX is no joke and will expose any weaknesses a rider has.

To me Webb struggles in SX whoops, the rougher the more the struggle. He typically can minimize the damage with corner speed and other sections on the track. He is more of a threat where the whoops are not too difficult or not even in play. The Outdoors has a greater number of rough sections.
I would think at this point in his career, he is not looking to soldier through the outdoors. Webb has not ever been a force in the 450 outdoors. Hopefully Eli, Chase and even Hunter can be on pace to challenge Jett this summer.
People have spoken about two months before they were fine after a operation like this.
If he choose to come back in the middle of the season, he shows that he want to be out there, if he sit the whole season out while being capable to ride, we have our answer there.
And don’t give me some bs about he should sit the second half out because he don’t have a shot at the title because he would not have that if he rode the whole season neither.
It’s strange that the teams accept riders doing this kind of stuff. If i was a team manager or a sponsor i would like my guys to be on the track the same second they were fit to ride.
Malcolm renting out his fishing boat?
I don't know why anyone cares about Webb skipping outdoors, he's not a contender anyway. If he wants to focus on supercross then so be it, that's what he's good at.
This is vital. Most people on here. Are just here to hate. I feel Webb can do whatever he wants to do. It’s up to him. Almost all of the pro riders prefer Supercross over outdoors. It’s definitely smart for him to focus on Supercross. He can finish 3rd in an outdoor Moto. And he’ll get bashed on here for it….
I know why he ain't racing it, ain't got no money in it!
He heard the farm had opened a McDonalds.
One reason is because he always propagates this BS about being gritty and the ultimate competitor etc.
I would think his employers - where he is contracted to race both series plus SMX - have a different view on Webb doing 'whatever he wants to do'. The guy's as lazy as shit and everyone, except his boyfriends on Vital, know it.
Imagine how much if an oxygen thief you'd have to be to call Cooper Webb "lazy as shit" 🤣🤣🤣
Rather see him fully prepared and ready for supercross next year instead of racing outdoors this year.
Paul rode great all season and has NOTHING to be ashamed of. Get well soon!
Racing is the best training.
There is about one? Rider in history that had a sx only contract that could come out and dominate sx after missing a summer of racing.
And Webb is not on that level.
Maybe he will do a couple of rounds and see where he's at, remember the SMX playoff points, having an extra points for racing outodoors could mean a huge payout at the end of the year...
If he doesn't race it, It would be cool now that Star has signed Max Anstie for next year, put Max on the YZ450F as a fill in rider, he would do good in 450MX, he won an MXGP class moto at Lommel
Pit Row
I just watched the race again on the treadmill. They literally said his doctors told him not to ride at all, and the team said they had to soldier through the suffering as there was still a championship on the line. I do not see gray area to that at all.
Anybody who thinks he is racing outdoors at least at the beginning of the season is nuts. And it does provide a little merit that it could have played into why Eli agreed to race outdoors at about the same exact timeframe. I would not be surprised if Yamaha didn't write a check with one more zero for Eli in the circumstance.
Considering they where tied in points after 13 rounds that is not saying much for Jett.
Anyone can make it SEEM like a real injury when they know the camera’s are rolling on him.
JUST the week before the camera was on him and he clearly stated “Arm Pump.” Not one time did he ever bring up his thumb. Now all of a sudden, he’s had a thumb injury since Alabama, but won two races during that time.
Dude hates outdoors and it’s not a secret. He will do anything to NOT race outdoors.
And if Jett didn’t get t-boned by barcia it would be over before the last round, doesn’t say much for Webb….
