chris Heisser worked for his dad for a little while till he started his own contracting company building houses around T.O. and West Lake.
Johny Whelchel got hurt pretty bad around 85 and the last I talk to him he was doing construction, but that was a long time ago.
Steve Schmitz was working with his father in law as a car painter, started drinking way to much divorced her and faded away.
AJ and Matt Whiting, I havent even heard from them in years. Matt was working as a mechanic last I heard and AJ was going to school but that was years ago so I couldnt tell you for sure.

thanks 4 the reply, uptite.i grew up reading about these guys in minicycle action and they were my heroes.you dont hear about alot of them anymore but i would like to think they are alive and well and still riding, perhaps with their kids, ect.much like myself. in the mid 80's i was more into cars and girls and lost interest in riding for a few yrs,so i probably missed out on info about their racing in the pro classes.anyway, thanks for the response and keep them coming

I remember Chip Vogel, my buddy had a 78 RM 125 I put a 100 engine in it he and Chip use to have plenty of duels at OCIR in the 100 class. He also protested him thinking it was a 125.I think Chip went on to race off road trucks and was pretty good at it.

Chip Vogel,Tracy Meeks,Allen Lucas,Chris Morey,Randy Fliesher,Danny Jean,Marty Miller...plus a bunch of others i can't remember and myself all rode for Harry Cycles Sales in Orange,CA back around '73-'79 ... i was just curious if anyone knew what some of these guys were up to now???? ...

A friend and I were talking about Tracy Meeks, he had ran into him a while ago but I dont remeber what they talked about.

Sam Storer, thats a name I havent heard in years.
When ever I hear mini names from the past it reminds me of the A.M.E. I still have my last license from them.
I remeber being at a big ame race at Indian Dunes watching Kehoe, Luo Franco and Goerge Holland going at it.

John Welchel still lives in Santa Clarita, CA with his wife and sons. He works in concrete construction, what he's always done for work. John was still riding last I talked to him. Even did A Day In The Dirt a couple of years ago and was riding every week at Piru or LACR back then. He tried Mammoth in 06' and was leading one of the Vet classes but caught a rut and hurt his knee. I don't know if he's ridden since then. He's good friends with Erik Kehoe.

My dad ran into Traci Meeks. He lives out in temecula....I believe he said he was a contractor or something like that.. Jon Jon Belise was the guy you always heard about when I was racing 50cc... I ran into him at US Open a couple of years ago. He was hangning out with Larry Brooks.......

I remember Dave Miller, DMC; use to be a Kawi specialist and thought they worked with Team Green in some capacity.

I however seem to remember Miller/Mano; MillerMano something of the sort.

Well I know where Aj Whiting is. He is my brother-in-law. He is happily married with three children living in Palmdale CA. He is an electrician.

He's still in business as DMC. Does lots of XR/CR conversions....did a frame recradling for me a couple of years ago for this bike.

I also have a KX/XR conversion he did. One of four he built for Team Green in the early 00's. I dropped by his shop in '04 and he sounded as busy as he wants to be...
