Here's some pics of my yz80 I'm currently restoring. I started racing in 1981 and thought my bike sucked since it had a metal tank...stupid kid. While cleaning out the garage about 6 months ago I came across my old 86 Honda Cr125. It was under a bunch of crap and I had know idea we still had it. The last time it ran was the 1987 Golden State series 125 int class at Huron went 4-8 for 6th overall if I remember right. Bummed with...

My nephew may race it in the elsinore gp this year. Everything on it is from 1986 except the tag bars. It has a mugen cylinder and head milled and ported by fmf, mugen intake and reeds, fmf cone pipe and silencer tuned for the mugen jug, bored carb, factory showa cartridge forks, Ohlins shock, Baja cross rims (now called...

Those guys were my heroes as a kid. I can remeber watching Bruce fly around Saddleback with lap times faster than the Pro's. He was so smooth and the sound of that RM80 WFO is something I will never forget...there was nothing like it. Everyone would line the track those days to watch the 80 expert class. I was so...

1981 Ascot Park in the 80 jr class on my 79' YZ80. It was so much fun! I ended up 3rd overall and got a trophy, pretty cool for a 12 year old.

I'm glad you guys liked the story. It was really a great time, and I can't believe the bike ran for two motos. I thought for sure it would die out there somewhere. After checking it out when we got home, the front brake was leaking all over the disc, the rear shock was blown, there were even less knobbies...

The funny thing about the entire day was that nobody seemed to even notice he was on such an old bike. I even told a guy watching that my nephew was riding my 20 year-old cr and he just said "he hasn't raced in 20 years huh?" I said "yeah my 20yr nephew hasn't raced in 20 years....he's pretty good...
