1983 RM 250

[color=#408040:1tb8bbye]You are doing a great job on it.They sure had some big ass reed blocks on them.Im a little jealous on your cool ride.How much are you going to get to ride it? Did the 83 RM250 come with the bigger 43mm forks? If they didnt, get them from the 84.I remember the 38 being a weak point on the 125.I had holes like that in my airbox.I ran a real muddy south Jersey enduro and put duct tape over the holes. Like it was going to do something. I got to the first mud bog and I just watched water poor right into all 6 holes.I didnt want to get stuck so I held it wide open and made it out. Next week at a MX, the crank seized.Those were the days it only took an hour or 2 and a 100 dollars to install a new crank.Thats even an old school crate! [/color:1tb8bbye]

Those '82 RM 250's were devilishy fast.
Wonderin' if you have an '82 top end or worked over the '83's?
Don't know if the '82's will fit, but thought they would.

The head was the big difference on the 82 over the 83. If you put the 82 head and the 82 flywheel that is 2oz lighter on a 83 it is just as fast. the 38mm forks were the weak point on the 82 other than the forks the 1982 RM250Z was the perfect bike.Here is a pic of my 82 with 83 tank cover from vintage suzuki.[attachment=2:1h3s3cd3]DSC03897.JPG[/attachment:1h3s3cd3]

Nice job, sweet ride, hate I didnt make it to Ocala but the bug had me down all week.
I rode a friends 82 back when they first came out and I was still on my 490 Maico, remember thinkin how great that full floater suspension worked .

I still think the full floater on my 82 works better than a lot of the new stuff. Just one more reason the 82 RM was one of the best mx bikes ever built
