Awesome! Im to young to remember supercross in the 90's. My brother used to love Damon Huffman.. I still have that "Dangerous Damon Huffman" video from (i think) 95'.. good stuff! Was Damon successful in the 250 class? Did he ever win any races?

I'm not sure if he won races or not (hopefully somebody else will know for sure). in 97 SX/MX switched to ESPN2, and my town didn't have that, so i went several years without watching it. I know in 96 he was running up front with the pack, and it looked like he had a shot at beating McGrath. I can't remember if that's the race McGrath lost, or if it was Seattle. If he never won one, he sure had to get close. Once I started paying attention to things again he was a middle of the pack guy. Incredible rider though, that's for sure.

Huffy was awesome to watch... Used his body to soak stuff really well, was so smooth, and his AXO gear was badass for sure!!! Huffy on that Zook was the reason I ran 12 as a kid...

Anyone else notice how much harder that track was for the small bikes than today? Speeds were really low. I'd venture to guess even for the 250s the speeds were down compared to today.

On a 125 you had to nail everything every lap or you lost huge amounts of time by not making a triple or big timing section.

the whoops looked awful. It was interesting hearing Damon speak about the new technique of skimming the whoops.

4 strokes definetly seem to have made SX easier

The race I remember most with Damon Huffman was Seattle '96 and his battle with McGrath. Damon didn't win, but def. gave everything he had and made McGrath real nervous.

Yeah that was an awesome race. I was at the race and you could see Huffman latching on to MC when they were mid pack and you knew he was going to follow MC to the front. It's awesome when you can see a race developing in the middle of the pack and you know that mid pack race is actually the race for the win.

You could probably say this about allot of riders in the MC and RC days but I truly think if it wasn't for MC tearing Huffmans confidence down in 96/'97 Huffman could of been one of the greats.

Man they were slow back then. I remember watching those races and thinking how amazingly fast they were. Thing is, you could make a main in those days without having to jump anything over 30 feet.

A good 250 B amateur now probably goes faster than the pros did in the 90s.

Yea, that was one of the more memorable Seattle Sx's I went to. I remember being really excited because someone was actually challenging Jeremy and not backing down.

Too, ...too bad Damon Huffman broke his leg later on in the season. Never the same after that.

Thanks rc4187 for the Seattle reset.

The triple was pretty all or nothing. SX was no joke in the 90's, that's for damn sure.

The term scrub has been thrown around far too easily in our sport... That was just absorbing the lip a little... I can do that shit... I can't do a scrub tho...

These are scrubs...

I thought everything about supercross had got worse since the nineties but I have to admit after seeing the video of Seattle in 96 the 30sec girls have got a lot hotter.
