I’m not trying to start a fight please!!! I’m just wondering what happened to Stark ? Only one I’ve ever seen is AJ the Cat riding one on his video ? My local tracks are 3 palms and Rio. The only “new red KTMs aka Gas gas are the only “new” line I’ve seen in person. Are Triumph out yet? Are the Starks out yet ?? Beta? Man the Betas look awesome always were the trickiest. Looking. I’m a Honda man myself. The other rich kids and old guys still Ride a lot of KTMs and Husky’s. Essentially the same bike in my eyes more or less. I have seen the occasional Gas Gas. I do love the red and steel frame. I can see myself on a used one soon my 05 CRF is reliable as a claw hammer but man that’s a tank. I’m eyeing a low hour 18 CRF450. Or a used Gas Gas 450. What year did the gas gas come out? I’ve been officially retired since 16 (knee replacement). Ride 2 or 3 times a year since but been spectating lately got the itch again ? I have a million dollars in my pro Action suspension on my 05 DR D pipe bat fly front brake. It does what I need it to but after riding a buddies 18 CRF 450 I realized my 05 is a tank. Suspension makes it feel supurb. It eats up big braking bumps. But yet it still has a lot of weight up top on turn i especially on inside ruts. Help me out. Guys I’m 49. 6 ‘ 212 lbs in crazy shape for any age rider but chilling now with a metal knee. Just want to ride. If you could buy a low hour more moden bike to me that’s 18 and newer. I buy low Hour used never new and my budget is in the cash 5-7k range. What are my options. ? I’m not looking for an e bike. Or Betas those are too new and to fancy for me. I’m a car mechanic not rich man but not totally broke. Keep my 05 and Ride into my old age ? Or get a bike with a wonder button? Never had E-start

I’ve seen a stark at every ride day in last few months. There was 2 at the track last weekend and it wasn’t even a really crowded day.
Find you a clean low hour 16+ KTM/Husky 450. Button, reliable, not going to kill the wallet. My $0.02.
There’s a like new 350 in the for sale section here for like 7k or so.

My Beta 300 RX was at Ultimate MX yesterday, across town from you. Ronnie Jones that owns Big Country Motor Sports in Magnolia had sold several Beta 450 RX’s. I would have guessed with the crowd 3 Palms gets along with Houston area I’d seen a Stark, but I haven’t really looked.
Nothing wrong with buying used but you don’t have to. Cycle Shack North in Conroe has some screaming deals on close out last year model Gas Gas every year.
Triumphs will show up some day, maybe not in large numbers.
Thank you I rode Tom Shorts 350 a long time ago. To me they are like a strong running 250f. Than a 450. I like to lug a 450. 350 requires being rung out to 13k. I don’t like how loaded the suspension feels under that many revs and chain torque. I tried it. I thought I’d like it. But just wasn’t my thing. It’s a definite cool bike for some
Very cool. The Betas have always been the coolest looking bikes. I was at the world minis at mesquite a few years back and a guy had one. It was sexy. I was just concerned about part’s availability?? They are European ?
I may have to cross Red lines lol. I’m a Honda guy but I really do love steel frames and Red. Maybe a gas gas is in my future. I haven’t been I. Cycle shack I. Some time.
Parts availability is not an issue with Beta. As long as I put my order in that morning or the night before, anything I've needed has been at my door within one or two days.
That’s cool like do they have a distribution center in like the Dallas area? Or are parts on eBay now? I’ve been out of the sport since 16. A lot has changed except the skills and the strength and fitness it takes to ride fast. The names change but moto is still brutal as it ever was. Maybe more now because you used to have to be skilled to make a 250 or 125 sing now anyone can twist a 450 grip and hurt themselves bad
Beta ships all of their parts from Paso Robles, but there are a couple good aftermarket places as well online.
Finding a clean, lightly used 07/08’ CRF450R would be the cheapest “upgrade” option, but you’d still be kicking and performing the occasional carb clean. Plus, it sounds like you’re ready for something new! Best ‘modern bike’ option would be a 2019-2023 KX450. Rides most similar to the much-loved 05-08 CRF’s and is a good fit for riders of your size/weight. Engine character and overall handling also wouldn’t be too unfamiliar coming off your current 05’ CRF. Great deals to be had on leftover 2023’s with the 2024 new model…
Best of luck choosing and keep us updated
I think you're on the right track with a low-hour 450. Ride & demo as much as you can. There's a Yamaha motocross demo next weekend (27th-28th) at Rio Bravo, I highly recommend going. https://yamahamotorsports.com/events.php?event_id=247
I've managed to demo KTM, Yamaha, Alta, and Beta. Don't get a full ride day but otherwise just show up with gear, give them your marketing contact info, and you play with the new bikes for a couple laps, each model. They are free- but you will want to buy one!
Only a beta would ride a Beta.
Starks have delivered in a lot of country but TX was held up by some legal BS. Mine just arrived in Houston and I "should" have it here in Austin within 15 days. I let my hopes deflate a long time ago so I'm not holding my breath for anything. I believe dealers will start seeing inventory about the time my pre-ordered bike arrives. Sweet.
A clean low hour ‘19-‘23 KX450.
+1
This model is my 08 CRF450R, so damn good all the way around. I have two 23's, I am freshening them up and riding them for another season.
the betas are cool but it would be cooler with a red or blue tank
