Coop knows he had a championship slip away from him last year.  You know he will do anything and everything within his power to make sure that doesn’t happen again this year.  There’s no guarantee of course but I think he’s in Jett’s head enough now that it will be reeeaaally interesting.  The next four weeks it’s gonna be on like donkey Kong.  The only for sure winner will be us as fans of the sport.

He's clearly going above and beyond to make sure he has a real chance to win this title. I don't want to say this is flat-out the best he's ever ridden (as he's put in a lot of great rides, especially in 2021)... but his top-end speed this past weekend was at a level I haven't seen from him since his 250 days. I don't think 450 Webb has ever pulled a holeshot, thrown down the fastest lap of a race immediately, and then hold a lead against a guy that typically has a speed advantage over him.

He's was pretty damn good in 2019. I'd have to go back and watch some races to really compare

He was really good in 2019, but he mostly won that title on consistency while the faster Tomac screwed himself over every other round.

In 2021, he straight-up outdueled his biggest competitor (Roczen) in several main events.

I'm transparent about wanting to see Jett win. But the last guy you want to be racing in a 4 race playoff for the title is an on point Cooper Webb. Yikes!!

Whether he wins the title or not, it blows my mind how some people still doubt him in SX.

I can usually tell how invested in the sport somebody is based on their pre-A1 opinion of how Webb will do in the upcoming season. If they hit me with the "the field is more stacked than ever before, there's gonna be 5-7 guys at any given round faster than him, his time is up", I know they're a casual.

I think so too and I’m a Jett fan. You can lose 20+ points in three races and lose points lead at this point in the series. Webb is a Bull Shark and smells blood. Jett needs to be flawless at this point.

What makes you think he’s in Jett’s head? The Barcia T Bone, heat race where he beat Webb Stratght up, or bad start??? I’m curious how you got this claim.

Webb probably is in Jett's head some. Webb has a reputation and Jett knows it. Jett must be feeling pressure now. Will see how he responds. The huge advantage for Jett is that he still probably has an edge on raw speed.

Don't think Webb would fight to the death for the heat race win. But he will for the main. Jett knows what Webb did to Kenny to get one of his championships. Jett is thinking about it. Webb is the last guy he wanted to be tied in the points with right now.

Yeah I'm not seeing it. I'm sure he's feeling the pressure and respects Webb. If Jett is worried about anything it getting decent starts. He's got these guys covered

Not if Jett starts up front in top 5 he won’t.

Jett told Lewis something interesting. That his starts aren't as good as people think they are. That he struggles on harder packed starts and they're good when there's a lot of traction.

When you give Webb a taste of that red plate with only 4 rounds to go, you done fkd up son. He sees blood in the water now.

Agreed, just rewatched the race as I only saw the highlights Sunday. And Jett was 15.8 seconds down with 10minutes remaining, and ended up finishing 8.1 back at the finish. And that’s with Kenny and chase pushing coop the whole way. I think he’ll take whatever positives he can from this but his starts need to be better these last 4. The guy can handle pressure for sure, he just went 22-0 outdoors & you know the last 2-3 rounds it was on his mind about being a perfect season. Hopefully coop chase and Jett start in the top5 these next few races and we can really see these guys fight for the title.

Right,  Chase isn't out of this yet either.  15 points back. This 4 race playoff is going to be great

Ummm, wasn't Coop in the same position last year tied with Tomac and 4 rounds to go?

Then lost points the next round, then went down? Was Coop feeling the pressure then, maybe he is now?

I'm sure these last 4 rounds are gonna be good, lets hope all 3 get good starts, stay healthy, and bring the heat.

IF Jett is feeling any pressure at all, then it plays right into Webb's strengths. That's the crucial point. How many times has Webb come from behind and made it happen when it really counts? A lot.

Coop 24 champ or not....    It sure has quieted down the board with all the Jett fawners.  Grinning

I hope Coop wins it.  Jett has plenty of years ahead of him.    A 3X Webb champ will really bug the shit out of his detractors....2X is hard enough on them. Silly

If I were Coop..

I’d use “Under Pressure” as my intro music…

It sends a message. Laughing

If CW2 does pull off this championship, then he will have 3 titles to ET3’s 2 with half as many race wins. If Coop and Eli are considered same era, Coop wins legacy bragging rights, right? I think so, and I am a die hard ET3 fan.

Both Eli and Coop have earned bragging rights in my book.   Fan of both.

He’s just always there. There’s races you don’t feel he rode all that well then you look up and see he’s on the podium. There’s a string of races where you don’t see him stand out much and yet he’s gaining points the entire time. Very Dungey-esque (although nobody ever will be like him). 4 races left and tied for the points. Momentum on his side. Right where he wants to be.

What does legacy bragging rights mean? Eli has 4 mx titles and you could argue he belongs on the Moto Mt. Rushmore. Coop, while a total badass, isn't on Eli's level.
