I don’t know what is more impressive. That start or Jett’s reaction time when Webb cut over to the inside. (Fan of both)
They finally installed the purple powerband. About time!
Andrew Short used to do 3rd gear starts and would be at the front every race. Dunno if that’s what happened here but it has been done in the past.
It’s funny, people were wondering how he was getting such good starts all the time and one race the start camera man zoomed in on Shorts foot and they figured out he was doing 3rd gear starts and totally blew out his strategy!
That was wild. I was at the stadium in a really good position to see and he had about 3 bike lengths at about 1/4 way down the start straight.

Just found the first tomac thread I could to post this but I was watching the scoreboard more than the race and he was running Jett down bad in the main after he went by. Tomac it down to .3 seconds at one point and was setting the pass up before Jett almost took him out and stood him up. The next four rounds I hope to see eli going hard. He's got it for sure.
Can't believe jett hasn't learned that he absolutely can't cut down with five people in one corner or less. I heard that Eli may have started in third gear or just timed the gate to absolute perfection.
They had to gear the bike to do this specifically and a few others tried it and couldn’t ride the track how they wanted to
I saw the same thing when they were coming thru the pack. Tomac got held up by one of the guys which is why Jett slipped past. Then he was running him down and almost passed him. Then Jett did another cut down and Tomac had to stand his bike up, lost about 4 seconds when that happened. Then he lost all his momentum.
Glad we saw the same thing. I honestly think it was tomacs to win. He had a great start too BUT the bike slipped a little and stood up and he dropped from like 3rd to wherever he landed from that.
Im thinking our boy is getting nice and warmed up now.
