I thought Chase was going to get that one.  I think maybe it took too much energy to get by Roczen for him to be able to make a run at Webb.

Chase's pass on Kenny was ragged edge and I'm sure it spiked his heart rate.

I thought the same thing, they had his KTM was dialed in.  All 450’s pull but Chase’s bike pulled hard and hooked up.

If they had his bike sorted, he would have won this one when Jett was out of it.

Or do you really belive that Ken and Webb is at the same level of speed as Sexton?.

It's frustrating to see Chase not blow Webb's doors off when he's close to him on the start. But, to be fair, that track was brutal to pass on. It took Jett the entire heat to get around Webb and we know he's not on Jett's level for speed.

Don’t think yall are giving coop enough credit. Especially this weekend. He had the fastest lap

I'd think that was more from a track that had nothing to separate the riders from each. But, BUT, I could be completely wrong and not giving him enough credit speed wise.

To me, he and his bike don’t look “dialed” yet. He had a lot more movement in his suspension than all of the other KTM group riders which is interesting. He looked better last night but still lacks that Sexton aggression by design or not. In qualifying you could see his frustration with the bike still as he mentioned they were searching throughout the day. A funny little glare was made at Webb when Coop mentioned in the press conference that he hasn’t touched the bike since December. Either way, Chase has more in him and personally think he should have stuck with a Jap manufacturer as that is what he grew up on.

Wasn’t Webb the fastest qualifier? And didn’t he win the race? I’d say yeah, Webb is as fast as Chase.

I guess what my hope is as a Chase fan is that he sorts out the KTM and has his '23 speed without the front end tucking. He hasn't had the silly crashes on the KTM. But is just because he's not going as fast?

I agree with you Chris. The track seemed kinda basic. Not much there to separate the wheat from the chaff. They were all going very similar speed.

Eli and Jett were doing a triple-triple-single before the finish line that only they seemed able to do. But it didn't even seem faster because you singled into the bowl turn before the finish line and wouldn't really rail the corner smoothly. Everyone was stuck doing the same thing. But whatever, they all race the same track and Jett blew the start in the main big time

He had the fastest lap but some how one rider closed down a close to 16 seconds gap at one point to 8 seconds at the finnish comming through traffic.

Yes, Webb won, but a prime Sexton trumps a prime Webb in speed. Sexton is not at his 100% now.

Eli said it best the tracks are weak and it doesn't seperate the elites skills...

Managing the lead I think some call it. Jett is great at doing it outdoors.

I’m a sexton fan as I truly appreciate how he goes about his business. He is a clean racer who puts his best effort forward and stays away from the BS. Genuine dude….. the ktm just looks off to me still. It may be his fork setting but his front end looks twitchier but not as bad as the Honda by any means.  Hoping he finds what makes him happy on the bike so we see his best

I love Sexton but I think one of his weakness is that he rarely tries new lines during the race. Because of that, he sometimes get stuck behind someone a little bit longer then he should. Last night, he took the outside line all night in the rhythm lane where there were two on-off in a row while Webb, Kenny, Tomac and Lawrence were almost always going inside and landing past de second on-off. He would loose a bike length or two on Kenny in that section, then have to work super hard around the rest of the track to close the gap again. I was just watching from the stand and was getting frustrated for him haha.

Chase still looks reserved on the KTM. More so than Plessinger with the same bike. Webb, Kenny and Jett look like they can push the edge more, get a little out of shape and not worry about it.

Last night he’d jump into/onto the the 2 flat-tops at warp speed (long combo section after the sand section). He had that scooter on rails.

Chase looked great, awesome dude and hopefully of they have the KTM acting how he likes he can get back to those super impressive rides we all love to see from him.

It does crack me up when people come up with all these weird and wonderful reasons why Webb "isn't fast" though 😂

Chase is dialed in. He got 2nd because once Webb got the holeshot he was not going to be denied last night. You could see that building up all day. When Webb is totally focused, motivated and gets a start he is probably the toughest guy out there right now.

And many seem to keep forgetting that this is Webb's 1st year on the YZ just like Chase on the KTM.

WRONG!

With Chase right on his tail, Webb wasn't 'managing' anything, he was trying to go as fast as he could the entire race. He couldn't get a cushion.

Being in front Coop did the smart thing and rode the preferred line instead of balls out. Catching is one thing passing is another. Took Chase too long to get around Kenny for the same reason. These veterans in the 450 class are masters at that.
