i will have to agree with the tortilla comment, i had high hopes, and rooted hard for tortilla, seems im doin the same for BT... maybe im bad luck

I do wish I was the next Tortelli, but that has nothing to do with the topic. I wasn't trying to disredit or disrespect Townley/Tortelli was simply pointing out the simularities in their careers. They are/were both some of my favorite riders.

BT101 isnt the next anybody- he is the first & only BT101... He has brought excitement to every championship he has ever raced.. I want to see history repeat itself by BT bringing some excitement to the 2008 Outdoors...

There are hundreds of "next great thing" guys who were forced out because their bodies weren't equal to their spirit. It's nobody's fault, it's just that motocross is a cruel sport. 40 guys line up at the gate and 39 of 'em lose.

I think Townley is smart to sit out the stupidcross season so he can heal up properly for the real races that start in may . He proved to me his badassness in the last two MX seasons .

Do you think he has the goods for Stew? Townley was very close to RV's speed...maybe we'll get a glimpse of how that stacks up against Stewart.

BT is a fast learner, I watched him last year at the Atl. SX and he was all out of sorts during the first practice session and then gets second in the race. Pretty impressive.

Townley is definitely fast. I think he's odds-on to win the outdoors this year if he's healthy - unless Stewart is really amped up and ready to go, and doesn't crash out. Which means Townley wins if he's healthy.

Townley seemed pretty much rock solid last year. He gave RV serious competition, and, considering how RV did in the MXDN, that's saying TONS. It's unfortunate that he's had a few injuries. I can see the similarities some are alluding to between him and Tortelli. But, I think Townley seems a notch above the Tort. Also, having RC as someone to train with is going to help Townley be that much better than Tortelli.

Ben is also letting himself heal up before he gets back on the bike when he's hurt, which Tortelli didn't do. I know there's a lot of pressure to ride as soon as you can walk without crutches, but that's an invitation to miss more time later.

I think BT has the speed to hang with bubba and perhap's push him into mistake's then who know's .....

Yep BT has brains to go with the talent.

I kind of doubt JS will be ready for Glen Helen. Ain't no doc, but from major knee surgery to back up to full speed for GH?
He'd have to be healed AND have practiced AND trained AND up to FULL SPEED by GH.
So JS would have to start riding well before GH, less than 4 months. Just don't see him being back that soon.
BT will already have much time under his 450 and if indeed he's close to RV in lap times, he's a contender.

I've seen Townley on a 450 carve his way through riders to get to Everts and then pass him for the win a couple of times. I haven't seen Stewie do that yet........

The only thing that's going to scare Stewart out of competing are his injuries. Unfortunately, it looks like that process may have already started.

Isnt Grant Langston the 2007 US Motocross National Champion? Didnt JS race in that series?
