wewentfast just posted a pretty cool stat I saw.

When Tomac won in St. Louis he became 1 of 2 riders ever to win a 450SX 10 years in a row and he's the only rider EVER to win at least one race for 15 years.

Legend.

Was Chad the other 10 year guy?

Tomac is a legend, no doubt

I think Reed's best was 7 years in a row.

McGrath's best was 9 years in a row.

Stewart had 10 in a row from 2005-2014.  13 in a row if you count 125s.

I had to look it up.  I usually have a hard time remembering specific years of things that happened in pro moto.

i thought jeff ward had done 10 years in a row as well for 250sx (now 450). 83-92

He didn't have any SX wins in 92 or 83.  But he did from 84-91.

Blows that whole "10 year window" theory out of the water.

Proof that quality, balanced training and lifestyle creates a wide and deep base, while tuning out almost every distraction allows for a very high ceiling.

I'm aiming to live more and more like the Tomacs.

Never saw anyone better at Southwick when he’s in the mode. Railing outside staying low!

Yeah, no... Not for Lebitch..To win in this sport at an older age is an actual accomplishment. Our sport progresses in speed each year. So its much harder to win at an older age than a younger age. Basketball becomes more like golf each year, less and less contact. Team sports have 90% of younger players to carry the majority of the weight of the game. Don't bring that joke of a player/sport onto this forum again. Keep it moto.

Its funny though. I was just thinking this the other day. I found every 450SX win he's had from win 1-52. Every Finish Line jump picture with all the neck burns. But in researching I noticed this exact win streak of 10 seasons in a row with at least 1 win. Pretty impressive he's managed to twist the throttle to the top step after all these years.

The sport has done a weird 180 in the last 20 years. When MC beat RC couple times in 01 and all of 2000 it was kind of like “wow Ricky should be beating him” Now it seems like people think a 20 year old in his prime beating a 31 year old is the huge accomplishment. Weird shift.

Agreed. When Ricky finally got fast in 2001 after his first win of the season, McGrath said "Why couldn't this have happen when I was 25 instead of 29?" Clearly sighting age as a factor to his speed being off compared to Ricky. Like you said, this was pretty normal. Now the "old guys" are late 20's early 30's and still putting up wins on the young guys. Yes there's more factors now with bikes and terrible soft dirt, but its the same for everyone on the track.

How is a 20 year old rookie in his prime? He just started 450SX, he's not even close to his prime yet.

His first pro race was in 2019, he’s been at this 5 years. He went 22-0. How is this not his prime? Maybe his prime lasts until he’s 30?

Ok, I can live with that , I was thinking he hasn't peaked yet as he's still getting better and better, so I guess 'in his prime' fits.

I dont think 2 people to ever do it and 1 to do it 15 "blows the 10 year theory out of the water"

If anything, it proves how rare it is

Right. He's going to continue to get better for a couple more years. Also the training and recovery has advanced to where a guy near 30 is still very good.

Peak vs Prime dudes. I don’t think he’s peaked, but he is for sure in his prime.

😂😂 all sports relates to 1 another in some fashion whether u like it or not , but it don’t change the fact this is a longevity stat , I’m pretty sure if somebody like RV or dunge wanted to keep going as long as Eli , they would be on this list too

Sure they might be, but they didn't. So its Tomac all by himself.

Barely got it in 08 and 10 to keep the streak alive.

Incredible stat for Eli no question. One of the GOATs for sure.

How did I prove you're hypothetical question with what actually happened in real life? Hypothetically Tomac is a 5 time SX champ if he didn't have a few bad finishes and didn't tear his achilles. What are you even saying kid? MJ and RC are the GOATS.
