Sorry I may not have given you enough credit. Why don't you share with us the salary and bonus structure of their contacts plus the existence or non-existence of injury clauses and then we can have an educated discussion about whether those contracts were "earned".

A fair bit is covered in this very recent interview.

No. TO ME they haven't earned their rides because they can't stay healthy and get decent results. Odd crashes or someone crashing into you is one thing. But when you crash by yourself, get injured and can't ride..that's on the rider.
They're doing the longer deals for a couple of reasons. One is the fact that said rider will refuse to sign with them if they don't. Most riders want job security. Second, and related to the first, the teams want to lock in the rider themselves to stop other teams poaching them and to provide stability by not having to worry about renegotiating every five seconds, or even every couple of years. Bare in mind all of the teams will have clauses that allow them to jettison the rider if need be.
How can you say whether they have earned their rides when you have no clue about the terms of their contracts? Both of them brought a decent amount of attention and exposure to the team and its sponsors, so they do have value. Whether that value is $5 or $5m is debatable, but without any information at all how can you say who has or hasn't "earned" their ride?
If you went to work for your boss and dropped a steel plate on your foot would you pay to have it fixed yourself and go without income?
I'd bet both of them have signed new contracts in the last 3-4 years.
Especially AC, I bet he's been on 2 year deals his whole 450 career, so at least 2 years ago Kawi must have thought he was worth it.
You've got pretty harsh criticism for a guy like AC who won a freakin' National Title, and got 2nd place in another one. Ain't very many guys on the grid that have done that.
Who would you have put in his place the last 3-4 years since you know more than Kawi?
in a sense ur right , any other sport yea they would be benched or traded but who would be credible to take their rides as a replacement 🤔
Ya, he looks fantastic. And riders need to be full of themselves anyways. But he hasn't finished a season since... when? I dont even know. Part of racing is finishing unfortunately. He has speed, I'll give him that.
That's a pretty stark contrast from the video he posted shortly after his crash. He might need to make and believe those statements himself to make a solid comeback. I hope he gets completely recovered and makes a strong return.
Dudes off a perc. Someone should take away his phone til he gets off the pain meds
100000000% agree not because I don't like him, but because that's his biggest weakness.
Somebody needs to get a pool going as to how many outdoor rounds before he destroys himself in some spectacular fashion.
(Of his own doing)
He seriously needs one of his hangerons to have the stones to tell him not to post shit like that.
As per most of society at this point I think he'd probably benefit from not worrying about social media... It seems Zach Osborne went from a good rider/occasional winner, to first time champ and then later multi-time champ around about the time he stated that he was going to start ignoring it. Not saying it was because of that of course, obviously not. But at the same time every little thing helps, especially at the elite level. The guy is talented as all hell but he needs to stay on 2 wheels. And that's just the end of it.
It's kind of disappointing to see the post from AF. Such an incredible contrast in maturity between Forkner and another rider who has had serious health issues for much of his career: AC9. It seems as if Forkner has simply never grown up (and perhaps some of the people around him, as well).
Here I am, 26 years old, reading a thread with a bunch of grown ass men arguing about Forkner, Deegan, and some Instagram banter. What has social media come to
Pit Row
Why am I even responding.... Yes child, you get it fixed. What do you think insurance is for? How about workman's comp? Do you know anything about the real world? Would you just let your foot stay fkd up just to make your $15/ hour, ruin your own health and well being because of it? Just stop typing dude..
Go delete some more posts clown. Just like you had to do after I put you in your place yesterday. Too bad you had to come back immediately and make another post.
Keep it up and you will be deleting some more today. Maybe even this very one.
Oh, the irony this post.
So Forkner is back to his usual self again and now people are shocked about how he act and speaks?…
The only irony here is the same clowns keep doing it over claiming I do it. LMAO!
You really need to stop throwing around insults like clown and vitard, have some self-awareness man.
By the way you deleted a post today.
ditto
Because it was redundant. Not because I quoted someone and got owned. The last time I deleted a post that had been quoted was when Deegan threw a tantrum and kicked his bike over. DonO called me inhuman for posting a video even though it ended up being everywhere.
Never again I said after the bullshit I got for trying to be a nice guy. You are forever trying to twist everything I do.
wah wah wah. You delete shit alllll the time.
You need to stop BRO. I deleted mine because I didn't need ML to ban me for swearing at a kid on a forum. You've put exactly ZERO people in their place on here.
Focus more on the first sentence of my post
Comprehension is not his strong suit.
