Not all but some do pay to be on the team. Just recently there was an interview with Bennick where they said they turned down a generous, multi-year paid offer from KTM to pay to ride for Star Yamaha for a one year deal when he was turning pro. 

Pretty sure towers is paying for his deal right now

I figured. That’s wild. I believe with everyone healthy and Towers turning pro, star will have 9 bikes in the 250 class. Basically 2 full teams under one rig.

I dont post much but yesterday I was posting in the indy thread. Maybe you're just upset I critique a certain rider.

There was a rumor that Bobby Regen walked right up to the KTM rig and offered Julien Baumer a spot after he won SX futures 😂

No update? He seemed kind of dazed on tv and I think long-term effect of concussion was part of the reason why he didn’t come back earlier.  He could be a real treat if he wasn’t crashing so much is something we say too often in this sport.
