These girls are often strippers. She clearly didn't understand the concept of them coming around for the first lap. I don't think the race should have been red flagged. Red flags and medic flags are for downed riders not spectators who wander places they don't belong. In that case drag them off and the race goes on

I think that was the actual problem- in her mind that was the last gate drop of the night and her job was done. So she was carrying the cards off to close up shop. Just didn’t have the situational awareness to realize where she was walking.

Some of you in this topic are disappointments to society...a few temp bans have been handed out and two permanents.

Whats there to argue about? 100% her fault. She's an adult. Look around you when walking across the fricken race track! Just because shes a hot women you shouldn't go easy on her and just play it off as a  "oopsie" moment and blame ama? If it was guy everyone would be roasting the shit out of him.

Feld is 100% responsible, They always have a guy guiding/escorting/tell the girl what to do. That Feld official should have been with her until she is clear of the track.

What if it was a dig dug or a flagger?  You would be blaming him 100%.  Personal responsibility is lost by many of you in here.  If an official would have been standing next to her and the same thing happened would you feel the same?  They are not circus animals, she is an adult and should be aware. She made an error, everyone is Ok.

WHY do we need a model holding a 30 second board before the start? Are we not hiring people based on skills instead of looks?.

If a person working on the track need a official/escort to guide them off the track they should not be there in the first place.

It’s not like the racing gets better just because it’s a female standing there before the start.

And this is not a bash against women, it’s a bash against hiring someone because of her looks instead of competence. Or do you guys belive that a Monster girl does that job on the track better and safer than a seasoned AMA official?.

Glad she is OK. To me it looked like Everybody went wide to avoid her, and only Webb went for the inside. I can understand why he did it. He said he thought she was going to go the other way.  When I saw it the first time, I was surprised that Webb went for the inside like that. But after he explained he thought she was going to keep moving to the outside, it made sense.   That could have been really bad.

The track was changed up a little because of the weather. And to me some of the areas of the track seemed like areas that would not normally be track. At first I thought she thought she was off the track. She  said she did the same thing for other gate drops. But had to grab all of the 30 cards this time and that made it take just enough time longer that they came around before she was clear. It was just a mistake.  A friends girlfriend was a 30 second Girl at a national back  15 or so years ago. And she had somebody telling her what to do and where to go. She herself raced in the women's Pro class .She only did it that one day though. So perhaps when the girls are doing it every week, they are responsible for themselves getting off the track safely.  It looked like something that could have happened to anybody. Just glad nobody was hurt.

New to 2024? People get hired for just about everything BUT skills, depending on which special interest group is being catered to this week…

The reason I placed blame on the AMA/Feld is they are her employer once they hand her the board. This could have been her first time ever at a race, I have no idea. The timing official or someone in charge is responsible to make sure she makes it off the track before gate drop and once she does escort her to a safe place and say “stand here until the race is over” . Not difficult for an employer to take responsibility for their workers safety. I have helpers n remodeling and safety is number one for me. If she got smashed her employer is fucked, and so are we.
I’ve done some Feld on field experiences this year and the first time I was down there is was insane. It is VERY intense. There were FELD employees telling us where to stand safely all night and they didn’t let you wander 1’ off of where you should stand.

okay I’m done. As an old man my mind went to bad places of how close we came to seeing something that could have been disastrous if Webb/Girl did not react and move in the perfect direction to avoid a direct hit. And I must say, most people on here are wonderful, but there are a few who disgust me. One prick made an extremely disparaging remark about my 15 year old granddaughter. Sickening

Agreed . But there should be procedure in place to prevent this from happening . Which I always assumed was being addressed by having the race official escort the card girls off the track . That didn’t happen last night for some reason .

I can't truthfully say that I've NEVER seen a card gal left to her own devices but my memory tells me that they are always escorted by an official.  The ball definitely got dropped.  She was oblivious to everything but her job.  The officials job was to make sure she stays safe and doesn't interfere with the race.

I'm just glad she wasn't hurt worse and also bummed for Webb...but he's a stud and continued to do work.

We're all human.  Not a single one of us is perfect.  That's why there are procedures, rules, and laws...so mistakes can be prevented.  It's never perfect but it's what we got.  Peace y'all.Smile

Did you click GuyB for the whoops comment?  Dry

In all seriousness, some pretty sickening comments in here.  I'm glad ML took action.

Glad she's okay...that could have been so bad.   Had a friend that got clipped by a bike footpeg many years ago and nearly lost his leg.

Are you assuming the woman is an child who needs her hand held because as you say maybe never been to race, doesn't pay attention, doesn't watch, doesn't know what's going on while trying to exit the track? You guys don't give women enough credit.

Yes AMA/Feld are also responsible but what I'm saying is as an adult we should hold her more accountable rather simping on her and treating her like a child

A clearer picture could make a great poster for Jett's garage.  Maybe the Monster girl would even autograph it for him
