Peacock just took a CRAP!!! 💩

I had a similar problem last week.  I got too far behind and it shut off with 5 minutes left in the 450 main.  Very frustrating but once they post the whole race later on, you’ll be able to start back where you want.  It sucks but it taught me to try and not get too far behind.  🤷🏼‍♂️.   Streaming has it’s idiosyncrasies.  

I think you guys have shit internet. I’ve never had a problem all season with race day live or the main events. I never pause the race tho, only watch it live.

If you don’t catch up before the broadcast is over it will kick you out. Definitely a flaw of peacock but overall it’s been great for me. 

It happens if you pause or rewind the live broadcast longer than the livestream goes for. So let’s say you’re 10 minutes behind the live feed, if they only run 5 minutes of “the show has concluded” after the race and cut the feed, you’re gonna miss the last 5 minutes of the broadcast until you go back and pull up the VOD. 

It’s not my internet. I’ve got 300 up and down. Never have a buffering issue.  It’s just if you get too far behind and the live stream ends, it shuts down.  If you watch live and never let it get ahead of you, you’ll never experience it. 

Peacock kicked me out too. I got back in and it was back to the 250 LCQ. Then it cut off the 450 main. Look at the timestamps in the lower left. 10 seconds left and the main hasn't even started. 

One thing I noticed is that if you cast from your phone to your tv with a chromecast you can only watch it live… no rewind, pause, or letting it run ahead. Its completely stupid seeing that if you watch it on just your phone you can rewind, pause, etc. but once you cast it to your tv it somehow turns into shit. Idk what it is but for whatever reason the act of casting from your phone to your tv makes the phone app a complete piece of crap. Inexcusable in 2024. 

If you use an apple tv though and download the peacock app there and use that you can let it get way behind the live show with no problems and you can pause, rewind, and whatever else. Something about the phone app and chromecast dont compute and its bull.

99% of the time it’s your connection.  The other 1% is the broadcast concluding before you finish.

Start a few minutes late and skip most of the commercials.  It’ll allow you enough time to pause/rewind when you want and by the mains you’ll be caught up so that you’re watching in real-time.

F1 TV is what they need to strive for, that’s a great platform.  One thing I HATE about peacock is I have to watch the race from live, then rewind.  I’m on the west coast and usually wait to watch the races until 6-7pm PST since I don’t want to watch it at 4pm.  When I go to click on it to watch the race I have to start watching from there at live then rewind, so I always have some part get spoiled.  And sometimes if the race is far enough along I can’t rewind it to the start and usually miss a heat race which sucks.  Why not just at a start from beginning button.  Sometimes if I can’t rewind it to the beginning I wait a little while longer and wait for the replay, except it takes like 1.5 hrs for it to be uploaded on peacock.  I don’t hate peacock but it could be better.
