Thank god the rain looks to be stopping in the morning. We made the trek over from Atlanta & got a room. It’s been years since I’ve been to Birmingham but does anybody know how the city is around stadium? Our hotel is 5min from it but I wasn’t sure if it’s safe to walk at night around here or what? It’s just me & my wife so I want to make sure I don’t walk us through a rough part of town leaving at midnight. Laughing

If you like downtown Atlanta...you'll feel right at home in Birmingham.Cool  You're not really in the "walking" part of town.

Sure you are.

Start out walking... end up running!

I guess they are not worried about covering that start straight middle flat section? No idea what the drainage is like but I would think they would want to cover everything they can.  Water will spread like Magoofan spreading crabs in Vegas.

I was wrong about this. They typically do this for mud races so not sure why they didn’t this time.

Currently clear skies.  Might be ok.

You would think a venue called "Protective Stadium" would have a roof.

They're interested in putting money in your pocket not a roof over your head 💰

Dang,

How long have you worked for protective life?

Keys to the race:

1. Do not do anything involving the tire, unless it is flat

2. Get a good start

3. Don't fall

4. Stay away from friese

Get the pumps and brooms

After the bulk of the water is gone torch it to dry it.   Bmx dirt jump technique. lol. Our torch was lighter fluid on the ground and toss a match but I’ve seen those torches used by road crews and roofers.used as well.

Going to be some soft deep ruts between the jumps for sure. But if it rains no more...tonight should be good except for the super short drag race style lap times.

When I 1st logged in to the live-cam, it was sunny…so, there’s hope that we may get some help form the weather…even if it is projected as “Mostly Cloudy”…

Either way, there’s gonna be rutty transitions and probably some slop. But, from what I’m seein’…

Considering the weather…

The Dirt crew has done an excellent job and that track looks pretty damn good considering the the weather they got yesterday/last-night!

Forecast shows no rain. This is going to be a weird race with the tamed down track.

From what I’m seeing, I like the facility and the pit arrangement. I hope it returns next season in nicer weather.

I’ll be going if it does.
