Jett Post Arlington Interview

Ah ok, so making a pretty reasonable and objective observation means it must be a super fan?

Jett made some BIG mistakes in the public eye over the past month or so, and I was actually pretty over him and those antics...but I thought the same thing after Arlington. 

Took responsibility, said he'll try to learn, and didn't throw a fit. He got some pretty big wake up calls after the "it's easy to make up points" on these guys, and it looks like it brought him back to earth.

Good for him, good for the people around him, and good for the sport. I'm still not a Jett fan, but I can recognize the growth and respect it. 

I have always said he seems like a good sport that calls like he sees it. The kid once he calms down will be a force in sx. 

I mean, he was frustrated on the mud races and did some over the top stuff but he´s always been humble and sincere about his goals, nothing new really on the Arlington post race interview.

Super fan? Nope, his mom! Tongue in cheek comment. 😋

He is a 20 year old man … not a kid.

More often than not, its the fanbois of said rider that are the problem, not the rider himself.  Similar circumstances for Sewart, Reed, RV, Dunge, RC, MC, Tomac, Webb, etc.  Fanbois and the media hype - does more harm to the rider than anything. Every time I hear the word "generational talent" (and its not just moto, its a buzzword bingo term now) I want to punch a wall.

Even RC struggled in SX his first few years…if he can stay injury free, he’ll figure it out and likely be the next RC, Stewart, Reed, MC, Villopoto, Dungey type of rider and win A LOT of races and championships…

Yep I think the whole Lawrence team after the whole JA21 incident have done a pretty good job of bringing both Jett and Hunter back down to earth a bit, they're giving interviews after the races, they're being open, presumably honest and pretty humble in their answers its good to see.

These guys are the fastest racers in the world. Not geniuses. Not super articulate politicians. Not robots. 

They are young, brave men, who take enormous physical risks and put in amazing effort on and off the track.

I feel we would be foolish to judge them too harshly based on individual comments, especially if they are made on the exit of the track after a fierce battle, with the rider full of adrenaline. Even more foolish to judge the riders based on comments by others. Especially “keyboard warriors” spouting opinions without reference to logic or reason.

I for one, would feel I would have been a far better person if I could have admitted/apologised to/for my mistakes when I was 20yo. Let alone made less of the aforementioned mistakes.

When you are over 3 times his age he qualifies as a kid! He’s a good kid and will get way better at everything. Injury is the only thing that I see that could derail his domination in this sport! This kid has an amazing ability to make things like landing on a tough block turn into a very easy crash. The odds of this type of thing happening over and over again are against him, it’s something that he needs to clean up.
