Experience with Tusk brake rotors?

I need to buy a brake rotor, and the Tusk rotors are about a fifth of the cost of the OE rotors.  Does anyone have any experience with them?

I'm a brake dragger, and I run their rears by choice on both Yammie and Honda.

Give it a try.

I run em too. Kawi 450. I would say they do not work as well performance wise as OEM but durability is much improved. I am hard on the rear brake so my pads last a ton longer. Also at 1/5th the cost I put a new rotor on every once in a while! I

Do you happen to have the part number for that rotor?  I need one for my 2024 450 for my spare rear wheel.  I need a 240mm rotor.

Buy with confidence, been using them for a few years now with no issues.

No issues with the floating front rotor on my off-road bike.

Not as good as OEM. I tried one for my yz250 and hated it. Ponied up for another OEM one.

What did you not like about it?

Galfer or Braking all day long… i’ll give you one guess why it’s so cheap!

Well, a big reason is because they don't have to pay a bunch of money for marketing and branding to stay relevant like a company like Braking or Galfer does.

Another reason is that they have huge purchasing power due to the wide range of products they produce and sell.

However, I'm guessing that isn't the reason you were going for.... Wink

Tusk rotors have been fine in my experience, I too would love to buy the top tier/name brand stuff every time, but fuck me this sport is getting outrageously expensive, so sometimes a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do.

Because Galfer and Braking are overpriced is my guess.

I have never used Tusk specifically but have used other cheaper priced rotors before so here is my 2 cents.

Simply put the metals used are of a lower quality so the brakes did not have as much bite and were never as strong.

I like strong brakes my self.

No lack of stopping power with mine.

I have no problem supporting a rmatv brand because of how much they pour back into the sport on the amature level. Guarantee its more than galfer and braking combined. Plus i could tell no quality difference between stock and tusk.

I had a front oversized on a 250 YZ. A little less bite than top brands (no biggie sine it wasn't my race bike), zero negative otherwise. Mounted perfectly, held up well, great deal.
