Is that a newbie quote?!?!

The 250 smoker is only legal in the lites class in AMATEUR competition...

And J-Law was barely at the nationals last year... And on a YZF450 at that...

The AMA goobers have never "been accused of being smart".

Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki and all 4 stroke proponents should welcome the challenge of proving that the four strokes are as good as the say they are. Equal displacement is the ONLY way to make that happen.

Heck, I might even join the AMA again after vowing 25 years ago to never be an AMA member again..................................well let's not get carried away.

run what ya brung... that is what it should be...

But it was okay for 250 four strokes to race against 125 two strokes.........no one complained when the four strokes had a clear advantage.

True. The rule should have been looked into when DH won the Vegas SX in 1997.

Yes they should. More twostrokes to the people means more active riders in the sport which means more helmest sold which means more money for everyone.

Did I mention that they sound nicer and lower, which means more places to ride for everybody.

Or we could go on with bangers and turn it into F1...

How about 125 2-Troke and 125 4-Troke in the 125 class, 250 2-Troke and 250 4-Troke in the 250 class and an open class for anything bigger. What an amazing concept.

we have it working fine.

they can do what ever the hell they please in pro.

500cc in the 450 class wouldn't hurt a thing either. love to see a 500 cc A/F in the outdoor mx stuff, hell i might take the 100 or so people with me to go watch again if they did.

Smile
Wardy, I will expect your 100 fans July 11th then. ;-) Including everyone else here that keeps bringing this up over and over. It is a beaten horse, unless you guys do something about it. So If no one shows up at my race, then I will be on the bandwagon of 2 strokes are dead.

The reason this keeps coming up is that there is still life in it. More and more people are returning to two strokes and loving it. I'd love to see the 250 class open to the two strokes at the pro level. Then there would be an influx of new technology and a whole new movement away from the heavy, fragile fourstrokes. Even without us though, two strokes are making a comeback and we'll eventually have to take notice. The automotive world is using new technology to make two strokes super clean and efficient, plus the marine and snow industry who are already there. This horse is not dead, far from it.

Did anyone go to GNCC opener this week?

Am MX rules, 250 smokers in XC2 class.

Curious to see how that went.

I was at River Ranch tuesday as a spectator and there were a lot of 2 strokes in the morning and afternoon races, a lot more than the last 3 years.

Hey you placing that race the same weekend as a Megacross is good and bad. One one our saturday night race many will be leaving for your sunday event, as we have a good purse also.

Trying to pull a "national" type event non ama in the middle of AMA country maybe hard to do. I like your classes and the electic intermission idea, I have been waiting to jump on that band wagon myself.

I think it's to soon to try to race the electrics, but I will look at your deal that weekend, I want to see structure in place to promote the electrics no question. We will have a electric promotion also, specially if yours looks to have riders in the area that have th

We consulted about the megacross as well. Here is our whole concept. It won't have factory riders there I'm pretty sure (they used to show up at Byron before Red Bud a long time ago, if you remember, but Junior put a schooling on some big names) , but it will be really good for lower guys trying to race Red Bud and then making it over to Millville. It is kind of a great way for the lower tier riders to fund a trip, and it also makes sense for them in the purpose of where are they gonna be hanging out for a week inbetween races? Are they gonna drive all the way to Florida back home, etc? Or are they just gonna shelter up in their mobile homes, at Wally world? Thus, figured the Megacross on Saturday night and our race on Sunday would be a great way for guys to make some traveling money. So yes, the Megacross did come into play. The reason we will not have AMA as our sanctioning body, is that we have special things that are gonna change motocross completely. The main event is not listed, but there is one. It will be announced at the track. But it will be very very cool. Riders will be allowed to sell gear and gear makers will be allowed to put riders names and numbers on clothing for sale. A number of other things as well. I promise this will be very cool and hope you show.
