Maybe AC9s time has come and gone? He is 28 years old, it wasn't that long ago that was past your prime in pro racing. Who all thinks the current age of retirement for these riders keeps creeping up because the young riders coming in are ill suited to the pro ranks? When was the last time we had a Distefano, Tripes, Bradshaw, Lechein teenager brawl his way into the senior class? I can't remember. Even "first race ever" winner Jett had four years in the Junior class before coming in. Shouldn't someone like Hunter come in and at least be a podium threat every race? Even 30year old, never really a title threat Barcia has a podium this year, and last year's allegedly fastest 250 rider couldn't get through an LCQ let alone podium, and he is happy about his season so far. 28 years old used to be over the hill. I remember everyone going ape shit when RJ got a heat win at Daytona, shouldn't he have? The sports fastest riders are all around 30 save for Jett, what was McGrath, Stew, or Carmichael riding like at 30? Should fast young riders like Deegan, Bennick, Beaumier, be put into the senior class sooner?

"To your point"...It's crazy to see JMart, Phil, and RJ in the 250SX class

I listened to a Jmart interview earlier this year, he kept saying how "gnarly" 450 SX was, and he wanted no part of it. Too long of races, too long of season, too powerful of bikes, he sounded scared of it. He is a multi-time winner in 250 SX.

Marty Smith RIP when at the end rode for Suzuki and Cagiva admitted he was scared after a crash when with HRC that caused him to be injured. Hip maybe? So he hung it up. Certainly no shame in it. And Bradshaw not feeling it before he came back also left.

Ultimately it's their choice I respect all of them either way because it's their life to live, and I'm just a spectator

I can see him being an ambassador to Kawasaki, McGrath won’t be doing it forever.

AC doesn’t have the win record, the following, or the name recognition with the public in general or casual fans and consumers to pull that off.  Even though he has been retired from racing for decades now, Jeremy McGrath is still the most widely recognized champion in our sport, attracting attention and being asked for photos and autographs everywhere he goes, especially with the more “seasoned” fan (like me) that have money to spend.  The 90’s are sometimes referred to as “The McGrath Era” of Supercross.  Jeremy literally carried the spot to new heights during his reign.  There is no Cianciarulo era.  Nobody that isn’t a hard core fan knows anything at all about Adam.  He seems like a great guy, but not every great guy has the loyal following to be a brand ambassador.

Doug Henry broke his back in 1995 on a Honda, 1996 Yamaha took a chance on him, won National championship in 1998. Imagine what social media would have said about him in ‘95-‘96.
Adam’s best days are ahead of him and it’s in his hands, not social media trolls.

Send him to Canada for a year so he can battle for podiums and gain some confidence back

As basically all the Factory Contracts do!!!  Its Mid-February for goodness sakes. He was /is coming back from some tough injuries and is making progress. Not quite at the level he wants or was at a few years ago before the forearm BS but he's progressing. Getting a broken finger certainly put a damper on things and this year's 450 field is ridiculous for a bunch of these guys on Factory teams to even sort out where they are currently at and where are they heading as the season moves along.

At 80% healthy Adam has more talent and speed than many of the riders currently on Factory rides. If he wants to keep racing, he will have a ride and be paid well for it. There's too many rides available that would love to have a guy like him. And there's more upside than down. Prado coming and being on a Kawasaki is still here say. Probably true. But Don't be surprised if something works out as a Factory Kawasaki rider under PC. Or on another Team which might do wonders for him. He's still young.

What factory riders is AC beating at 80%?  Benny bloss and mcelrath?

Did he get surgery?  The wrist injury thing was bizarre the way they handled it.

With all he has been through injury-wise, I agree that his best days are ahead of him.  Unfortunately, due to nerve damage and a host of other injuries, his best race results are behind him.

Doug’s first back injury didn’t involve spinal cord or nerve damage.  Unfortunately, his second one did.  Adam’s injury isn’t a mechanical one that can be medically corrected, or he would have done it already.  I know from personal experience how slowly (and possibly incompletely) nerve injuries heal.  I’m a year and a half into recovery from a nerve injury, myself.

0 450 SX wins correct? Few would have predicted that at this point in time.

I think alot of current 450 riders didn't live up to hype. Of course not everyone can be champ, but some expected winners with just a few podiums if any.

The Canada idea makes sense but he would want too much money .....if I was a betting man I'd say he retires. I can't see him carrying on as his results will backside. I'm not dissing the guy it's just it is what it is

I hope he tries another brand next year.  Honda or Yamaha.

When either one of them do finish they finish last of all the factory riders. I agree neither will be racing next year.

If Adam gets his nerve issue resolved, I think he has a “yuge” upside. He has already said financially he is set, the only reason to keep racing IMO is that he has more to prove to himself.

I think he feels commitment to his fans and supporters. He needs to understand we will support him in his decision no matter what it is. He needs to do what is best for him and his body.
